I had been using Cabot semi transparent stain every 2-3 years. I have a gas pressure washer so deck was always prepped properly. The deck is 30 years old but still solid. Underside is accessible and I also pressure wash that as well to remove stains. The top side had many small cracks. The semi transparent oil would tighten the cracks up year one, each year after that they got worse. Three year ago I used the deck correct, applied two coat using a roller as instructed. Three years later it still looks great. I love looking at how my deck still looks good. I live in the northeast where we have hot summers and cold winters. I have a nephew whos in the process of buying a house that has a deck in rough shape. I volunteered to help him restore the deck with Cabot Deck Correct
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Needed something to help restore my deck and I didn't want to replace it. Have been using Cabot for over 30 years and this product was so amazing, useful and beautiful.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used Cabot forever but when Deck Correct came out I was amazed. My decks are 20+ years old and Deck Correct did exactly what it promised. My decks are in great shape considering their age of 20+. You can see the before and after in the submitted photo. I'll never use anything but Cabot Deck Correct. Deck Correct has protected my lattice for the same amount of time which blows me away. Lattice rots quickly in the Arizona sun and I have never had to replace any of my lattice. Cabot protects it year round. Amazing stuff.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 30+ year old barn made from lumber we milled. Cracks and splits and very faded. Cabot Deck Correct made a huge difference! Great protection and good looks! Very pleased with it! Easy to apply - we brushed it on to get deep in each crack and split. So easy to clean up as well! Next, our 30+ year old deck!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an older pier that needed staining again, a neighbor recommended Cabot Deck Correct and I'm glad he did, it cover the old wood great. Some of it was separated and it took care of the cracks, and by the was the pier was over 40 years old so you can imagine.
I put this product on our covered front porch about 3 years ago. The porch is made of 2" x 6" pressure treated tongue and groove. I power washed it and put 2 coats of Deck Correct on it. I'm still happy with it and it looks great. We live in Coastal North Carolina, on the Outer Banks. The porch faces South and gets a lot of sun. I am going to use Deck Correct on our dock. I hope it works there as well as it worked on our porch.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The stain was exactly what we needed. Rolled on smoothly and quickly. Nice thick consistency made it easy and less messy. Goes on light (I thought it was the wrong color) but dries as shown in sample. We also liked the semi- stain on the house
I applied one coat of this stuff three seasons ago and it is still holding strong. I spent most of my effort focused on PREP WORK. Deck correct is great for old wood, but old wood requires thorough prep. Thoroughly clean, SAND, and allow to dry completely. Crucial steps. I'm reading lots of reviews about peeling after a season or two. I'm not a Cabot representative, just a happy consumer that is bothered by these negative reviews that are likely secondary to inadequate wood prep, not a failure of the product. The end.
Bought this paint a year ago, the Tile Red. It matched our shutters beautifully. This year we bought the same color but it doesn't match (not happy at all) Cabot decided to change the tint colors this year. So how are we supposed to touch up any places on the deck that we did last year because it doesn't match.
NEGATIVE 100 STARS HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE I prepped my deck as instructed. I stripped, I sanded, I power washed with deck cleaner, I sanded again, I power washed a second time, again with deck cleaner. I applied the "deck correct" after 4 days of beautiful, sunny weather to ensure the deck was completely dry. I applied the second coat the next day, approximately 18 hours after the first application. It all looked great, until it didn't. Left for vacation, came back 2 weeks later to this ABSOLUTE MESS! Tons of stains that WILL NOT COME UP. I tried bleach, i tried hydrogen peroxide, I tried detergent/soap & water. None TOUCHED the stains. Wow. Just wow.
