1 gal Cabot Stains 25200 Tint Base Deck Correct Deck Coating

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used Cabot forever but when Deck Correct came out I was amazed. My decks are 20+ years old and Deck Correct did exactly what it promised. My decks are in great shape considering their age of 20+. You can see the before and after in the submitted photo. I'll never use anything but Cabot Deck Correct. Deck Correct has protected my lattice for the same amount of time which blows me away. Lattice rots quickly in the Arizona sun and I have never had to replace any of my lattice. Cabot protects it year round. Amazing stuff.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The stain was exactly what we needed. Rolled on smoothly and quickly. Nice thick consistency made it easy and less messy. Goes on light (I thought it was the wrong color) but dries as shown in sample. We also liked the semi- stain on the house

Making some outdoor benches and used this . It stuffed up easily and some areas peeled off. Was using 2x12x8 fir. Had issues with wood as it leaked sap out , so had to let wood dry for a few days.

I painted my deck last summer and it is already peeling in many areas.

Just finished applying ~15 gallons of deck correct to my 900 sqft deck and railings. Application was smooth. Product did a mediocre job of filling cracks as advertised. We like the texture and hopefully we will not experience durability issues. However, the color was completely off. I purchased the paint in "Pepperwood" which is a gray/brown and the actual result looks silver/gray. Almost like freshly poured concrete. I made the mistake of believing that a second coat and more drying time would bring the color closer to the sample. Now I am stuck with the results because I already used the paint.

NEGATIVE 100 STARS HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE I prepped my deck as instructed. I stripped, I sanded, I power washed with deck cleaner, I sanded again, I power washed a second time, again with deck cleaner. I applied the "deck correct" after 4 days of beautiful, sunny weather to ensure the deck was completely dry. I applied the second coat the next day, approximately 18 hours after the first application. It all looked great, until it didn't. Left for vacation, came back 2 weeks later to this ABSOLUTE MESS! Tons of stains that WILL NOT COME UP. I tried bleach, i tried hydrogen peroxide, I tried detergent/soap & water. None TOUCHED the stains. Wow. Just wow.

Bought this product a few weeks ago because I have an older deck that is still structurally sound but was looking for a product to help fill/cover some of the more heavily weathered areas. Well after 2 days of pressure washing, paint stripping, and finally prepping with Cabot's wood cleaner, I let it sit and dry for a couple days. Perfect weather. Temps in low 80s, with no rain for 2 weeks before or after prepping/painting. First coat went nowhere, seemed like the wood was soaking it in well, which was not surprising in the least. Came back with 2nd coat next day, everything looked great. Well here we are not even 2 weeks later and a small area somehow got punctured and this crap is peeling off just like plastic wrap. All the time and money I spent on prep, and painting out the window because this product apparently does not adhere to wood.

Only nine days after the job was completed by the well-qualified painting contractor, the DeckCorrect finish has stains all over from oak acorn debris. The stains are from acorn and bark debris that fell during rain storms over the past four or five days. Today, I blew the acorn debris off the deck, revealing brown stains all over my newly-painted driftwood gray deck. Despite hosing them off and scrubbing with a stiff bristle broom, the stains remain. The deck, which looked beautiful after it was painted, now looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months...or years. These photos do not show how hideous the deck looks.

Purchased several gallons of this DeckCorrect (in 2-colors) after a friend recommended it. We stained the deck in August 2023 and here we are just 5-months and it's peaked and chipped ALL over; even on the railings! I am SO DISAPPOINTED in this product. It consumed a LOT of time to stain all 3-of our decks — not to mention the money we paid; it wasn't cheap! Terrible Results! HUGE Waste of money time.
