I have bought several other brands but I think this one is the best. It does a great job with the hard water and high iron. I have to change the filter every 2-4 weeks depending on rain which impacts how much silt comes in. You can see the of muck it prevents. I have bought this brand a few times now because they work well.

These filters are 3/stage, filtering the larger 10 micron (dirt) particals, 5 micron particals, and, what I really like is this filter even captures 1 micron (bacteria/cysts) particals !!! And they are comparable in quality to filters costing nearly twice the price ~ the 12/pack is truly an excellent value !!!

Perfect fit for my house filter, we are on a new well and my water stays beautifully clear and you can't beat the price. I change the filter once a month, and the amount of silt this catches is impressive.

I have yet to install one of these so I can't confirm how well it works. However, the description says it lasts 13000-gallons depending on water quality. The wrapper on each filter says the life is 2500-gallons. For me that is the difference between it being a 3-month filter and a 3-week filter. So, the reason they are so inexpensive per unit is you will be changing them much more often. I'm still debating whether to go through the hassle of returning them.

Buyer beware, after I received my order I did some research on the internet to figure out what was what. I didn't know these 1 micron filters show on the packaging that they would have to be changed every 2500 gallons, this works out to be less than once a month for whole house usage for me. Many of the filters (including these) show 25-30,000 gallon change intervals (which is actually for the larger 15-20 micron filtration size) in their advertisements no matter what micron size that they are advertising. But, I think sellers are “cutting and pasting” best/longest change interval information from other like items and placing them in many of these ads (most likely out of laziness, or some other motivation). Buyer beware.
