New driftwood finish on 50-yr old BR set
I love love love the finished look of this stain! However, it did require 4-6 coats, which on an entire bedroom set was exhausting and took 6 quarts. I have posted photos of the original finish and out dated style with the new finish. I am ordering a 6th quart because the bottom chest drawers just aren't dark enough after 5 coats. The final photo of the tall chest shows the drawers being too light after 5 coats; the doors DO have the flat varnish over them, which doesn't darken the finish…so, another quart and a couple more passes..
