Patience, and do it outside. Everything turned pink inside the house and clothes because of the dust and chunks. The tools it comes with is not enough so I recommend you use other things and adult strength may be needed, my 5 yr old needed help lol.

It is great for science projects. Three different stones came in the product. The only thing I didn't like was if you don't wet it, you will have red dust everywhere.

I hope they're real. They seem to be. But they're very fun and keeps kids busy. Even a 16 year old kid!

Grandson loves these ..he has sensory problems so he is very picky w what he plays w. It's not real messy either

for the right person this is a cool gift. we have a prize been for my son for doing well in school and we got this for the prize bin. I thought it was really neat it's something I would have liked to have done as a kid but it was kind of hard to do. My son kind of lost interest in it and asked me to help him I ended up getting a kitchen knife and just breaking it to pieces. we did soak it although the soaking time was unclear I just did it until the bubble stopped. still was way too hard to do with utensils that are provided. did make a mess and does stain.

Got this for as a gift for my daughter, she loved it ! The only downside was that it stains EVERYTHING red.

The smashing part my 6-year-old enjoyed but inside were just two rocks. They weren't even "crystals" or anything cool, just two rocks. My son was so upset that he cried and threw them away, so I wasn't able to take a picture. For the smashing part, it's a good gift but I would purchase a different similar item with toys inside.

Bought for child and it had them completely frustrated as they tried to use the tools provided to "dig" for treasure. We ended up having to smash with a real hammer.

There was nothing in there! My toddler and I brought the thing to powder... and there was not even one gem inside. Total rip off.
