Finally used the saw over the weekend, and I was not disappointed.
I have been using this miter saw for a couple of years and haven't found any reason to complain. The 36 volt system adds not just the convenience of portability, it assures plenty of cutting power. I've cut everything from pine, birch, aspen, fir, and maple to red oak without issue. As with any saw blade selection is critical to the quality and speed of your cuts. Blade changes are quick and easy taking only a couple of minutes. I've read criticisms of this saw regarding dust collection. The fact of the matter is that all miter saws are messy unless you use a tent type collector. The built in light and laser cutting guide are very helpful and accurate. The one caveat about accuracy is that like any tool with moving parts, setup is everything. An accurate square, and a bit of effort out of the box will give you everything you want out of this saw. Once that's done, every job becomes measure, mark, power and cut.
Read good reviews on this mitre saw and decided to buy one. Very happy with the mitre saw, has power does the work, love the laser light. Best buy for the bucks
Favorite tool in my garage. Laser light guide a pleasant surprise. I didn't think it would be useful, however it made setup quicker and consistent. Great product. Next time around, I'll purchase the 12" slider version.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 10 in Miter saw is very good and accurate with very good price. Excellent and very lightweight.
The saw came well packaged. All parts were included and were identified properly in the manual. The instructions for assembly were clear and concise. Assembly went without issue. I was able to modify my cabinet (where my previous saw sat) so this new saw would be as useable as the old saw. My only complaint is the laser beam... I guess I don't understand why it is designed to disappear as soon as the motor is pivoted down as in cutting. It would be nice if the line would stay visible clear down to the cut. .I suppose that I will get use to it. . I will also say that the enclosed blade is basically not well suited for finish trim work. Might be fine for construction grade work, but for fine finish work not so good. I replaced it with a Forrest Chopmaster and it cuts so smooth , one could not sand it that smooth. This tells me the blade runout is nil.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first Miter Saw purchase and overall I am very pleased with it's combination of reasonable price and high quality. In my opinion it's well built and performs well. Out of the box the components were lined up well and the cutting angles are accurate. The directions were a bit lacking in how to finish it's set up so I referred to YouTube videos to help complete that portion of the process. I had the ability to use the saw outside to minimize indoor mess, however the laser is pretty much useless if there is any sunshine. Even without being able to use the laser overall performance and ease of use was good.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hitachi saw had a good 25 year run. Made lots of money and a few years ago got this metabo equivalent. I like it very much and they both will get handed down in 30 years
The saw is compact and lightweight for mobility and makes precise cuts using the laser guide. However, the plastic dust guide assembly which includes the bevel angle scale was cracked when the saw was delivered and unpacked. I contacted Metabo support and they quickly responded with an order for a replacement of the part. Still waiting for the part to arrive.
The first one i received was perfect except for the 2 1/2" crack on the right front of the base. The replacement one had major problems. The left fence was not square with the table, base and right fence. The right fence was square with the blade and cut square but no matter what I did i could not get the left fence square with the blade, table or base. I could not get parts sent to me to fix it even though it was new, I had to pay for shipping back to Metabo for repair. I can't afford that.
