[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I utilize my Galaxy Tab A8 for work as a professional driver logging my Electronic Log Device. That means I've got it up and running daily, all day. It has a medium number of apps installed, most related to my industry, but I have tested streaming on it in down time. Had no issues with switching apps or bogging down. Midrange in screensize, easy to find protection accessories for, good idle battery life and as long as I screen off during sleep to give the tablet a break, I have no running issues during the day.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This the 4th time I've ever purchased a Samsung tablet. The first time was yrs ago for myself. I used it for years throughout college and the beginning of parenthood. I've used the tablets for my kids and I think of all the other brands I've tried for them, the Samsung is the most kid friendly, kid focused and kid protected tablet. I love that I can use the Kids feature without having to pay extra fees. I love that I can customize it and password protect it so it's fitted to my kids' needs. And I love that you can create more than one profile. I will always be a Samsung product user. Our cell phones are also Samsung Galaxy phones.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So let me start with life is made easier because of this tablet --see attached photo -- I've had 12 surgeries that make it difficult to do things like read in bed or watch TV and so on. I'm now able to put myself in a comfortable position and use my tablet to read, surf the net or watch TV. Since I was a kid going to movies was always fun but I couldnt hear or understand the dialog from the screen. Now because of this tablet I can connect ear buds and watch any movies and understand everything being said for the first time in my life -- THANK YOU -- All I can say is thank you for making things easier for me and my tablet goes everywhere with me.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Galaxy Tab 8 (128) is the perfect alternative to either the Amazon Fire or iPad. The flexibility to maneuver around the device is smooth and seemless. The ability to add a SD Micro card expands the possibilities. Where the Amazon Fire is restrained to 32 or 64 GB the Galaxy has 128 or 256 as the base GB`s. More than enough for a tablet. Where iPad continues to prohibit users from expanding capacity, the Galaxy Tab 8 has you covered. The 4GB of RAM really makes the difference in operation. The only possible drawback is the lighting. IPod may have something better, but the price of the Galaxy with all the quality functionality makes the issue moot.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this Tablet for our daughter. We got it when she was 2 yrs old. Yes I know, young! BUT.... we bought this for the long trips we were frequently making, and occasional family outings (because she is the only kid in a family of both sides full with adults & adult children. She gets bored... cries, & I don't blame her, she wants someone to play with her, but the grown-ups sure don't want to. What I LOVE about this, is the Samsung Kids! I can put a time limit on it, I lock it so she can't get out of it, & I have some learning apps. She absolutely loves it. We haven't had any issues with it. We've had it for a year now, (she's now 3) & it's a great product. She uses it once in a while only when these outings happen, & recently on a timed limit during the mornings using a learning app. It just comes so handy, that I know she's not doing stuff or watching things she's not supposed to, & she's not using it all day because of that lovely parental control time limit! If you're thinking about getting one for your child, this is the one!
this tab a8 is a nice upgrade from the tab s2. after getting used to the different screen (tab s2 was amoled) i am beginning to really like the new tft screen. there are plenty of adjustments to make it customized to your preference. the switch was very easy using the included software. battery life is very good and it appears to be pretty fast. my only issue is i cannot seem to get my sd card to snap into the sd holder so i can insert it. overall this is a very nice tablet for the moderate user for a moderate price.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the tablet around 8 months ago. I'm still impressed by the processing power and battery life of this device. I first bought it just to view videos and emails from time to time. But it has since replaced my laptop, which is something i didn't know possible with the price point of this tablet. It's definitely a great buy and I would highly recommend it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tablet is great for the average user in every way. The A8 has many things that it gets absolutely right. Then it struggles to do a few things that it trys to do but ends up just not giving the consumer the experience I think they would want. The A8 absolutely hits it out of the park for design, display, sound and quality all for the lower price point. The display is amazing for streaming and scrolling through social media. It's vibrant and very punchy. The sound is great for media of all kinds and it has the benefit of having audio being produced out of multiple speakers. The tablet in the hand just feels like quality and durable compared to previous versions. Hands down this tablet is the best quality out of the A series in a while. Where this tablet starts to show its struggles is when you use it for any productivity. Multiple apps open task this tablet regardless of their use of the tablet CPU/Memory. Things like office apps and multiple tabs is where this tablet shows it's desire to be more of a streaming and social media usage device. The cameras are good enough for most tablet uses and dona good job at video calls. The biggest downfall of this table is the lack of Spen support. If this tablet had included this simple feature I would have given this 5 stars and had near no complaints. Don't get me wrong this device is great for what it's meant to do and does those things great at this price point.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use my tablet every single day, for much of the day. I use it for business, fun and to keep up with my family and friends. That is why I need a durable tablet. This is a great Tablet overall. It was extremely easy to setup and move my information from my old tablet to this new one, I downloaded an app and it took very little time or effort and all of the information that I need was moved. The design of this tablet is nice. It feels good to hold and it feels like a quality tablet with some weight to it. The apps and how to navigate is also pretty easy, sometimes I have to search for something, however, that's not often and searching on this tablet is also very easy to do. The quality is great, the screen is a nice size and visually pleasing with simple settings to customize your personal preferences. The one thing that isn't as great with this tablet is the camera, which I use very frequently. When you photograph dark colors, it is visually textured as if the picture is fuzzy. This has been a trending thing with these tablets, as I've personally had several of this line of Samsung Galaxy tablets because of how nice they are, however, if I could say one con that I'd love to see worked on, it is definitely the camera quality. Overall, I definitely recommend this tablet. It works for everything that you need and the quality is very good.
Back in the day this may have been a good tablet. I purchased only a few months ago and it runs extremely choppy. New updates from Samsung have made this a really bad tablet. The operation functions extremely slow after the new updates kick in almost as if Samsung is trying to phase this model out.
