Nice pen/coop. Easy to assemble. Included everything needed. Even had extra wire/fence left over.
My chickens love it. No other animals can get to them. I recommend that people buys this item all the way.
The chicken wire was a little hard to figure out none of it was measured or pre-cut so but I just guessed my measurements and I still had some left over afterwards and it turned out really well all in all it was pretty easy
We purchased this unit for our new Yorkie puppy, to protect her from hawks flying overhead. It works great! The directions provided were very clear and easy to understand, but the detail on the outer door frame was not there, and had to figure that out. The kit had every piece that it was supposed to, with no shortages. The tie-raps that were provided were weak and broke easily when tightened, so I upgraded them to a 1/4" wide from the 1/8" wide tie-raps, and used over twice as many, just to make it perfect. It was very easy to put together and it took less than an hour or so assemble the frame. The door assembly works, but it needed just a little adjustment. They also provided more than enough coated chicken wire too, and could have easily covered a mistake. With winter on its way, I also purchased a 20'x20' tarp to cover it, and that fits perfectly over the entire pen, if you're looking for that type of coverage. I am extremely happy with this product and would definitely recommend it to my closest friend. Great value for the cost!!! Thanks!
Not too hard to assemble except a critical part was missing. (Make sure you check off your parts list and use a sharpy to label some of the weird shaped parts, right away.) Was able to make contact through Walmart and seller shipped it. Maybe a week's delay? Yes instructions/pictures could be wayyyy clearer but they are doable. It's far easier to do with two people. Main criticism is the flimsy chickenwire (way flimsier than regular 16-19g wire). But I knew I would get what I paid for. I have 2-foot wide 1/2” 16-gauge (14 is better) hardware cloth that I bought separately to wrap around the bottom of the “cage” with part folded out and pegged to soil to discourage burrowers. So that made it more expensive. I'd recommend saving up and buying a more expensive version that uses hardware cloth (hard to find). The tarp should have shredded by now in half a dozen wind storms but it is impressively intact. The frame is sturdy and I like the satisfying snick of popping one part into another. But wear the gloves because it's easy to get pinched. Our guineas do roost on the branched poles in spite of narrow diameter (but that's an easy fix). There is a pretty significant gap (2”-3”? I'd go measure but I'd wake them up and the neighbors would kill me) between door and cage frame, also under the door so small critters would require extra fencing pieces. My son had to finish it so I don't know if the door isn't designed to have a latch? But the little bungees work for now. I'll either fix any mistakes or buy/make U-shaped latches. Glad we got it and grateful to my kid for completing the job when I had to go out of town.
First of all, the directions for construction/ installation are severely lacking. Many sections on the parts and how to install them and to the adjoining parts. Yikes! I have assembled many items and never had soooo much trouble before. there are no directions on how to assemble the hinges on the door/frame. I also thought the picture of this pen was deceiving. It is much shorter in reality.
I ordered 1 that screws together not click together because I wanted it to be stronger. Well they sent the click together. I couldn't wait for the correct one to be reshipped so I had no choice but to keep it. It is not a very strong cage but will get the job done. There is plenty of netting to go around. Make sure you have it staked down good or it will blow over.
The instructions were bad , the door part was really bad. The tarp was very poor quality it was torn by the wind and blew off the second day. The zip ties are poor quality and alot of them were no good from the start. The extra single strand wire was a good addition to affixe the chicken wire to the frame. Could have used much more to replace the zip ties.
We took the pen out the box to assemble it and are missing one of the poles a %233 to be exact, I paid $179 for this thing so my chihuahuas would have a place to run around in in the yard. I would not recommend anyone buying anything you have to assemble from Walmart!!!!!!
Extremely cheap made and the door is the worst and has fallen apart. We have had this for several months now and I would not recommend it. Buy the materials yourself and build one. It would be cheaper and last longer or buy a dog kennel and put a roof on it. This is what we have done. Total waste of money.
