I was surprised at how good these were. I bought a bag of these beans to make before hand but I read that if you don't prepare them correctly they can become toxic. Since I didn't want to chance it I decided to buy the canned version. Great success. Didn't expect them to taste as good. For a big tubby like me this makes a good quick meal. Just heat them up and mix in some cheese and you're set. Very underrated product.
The thing I like the most about Great Value light red Kidney Beans is that they are the lowest priced and are properly cooked. They cook them so I don't have to chew too much but not so much that they develop a mushy texture. The sauce with the beans in the can is as tasty as the other move expensive brands of Kidney Beans. These are good beans for chili, succotash, and salads. Plus, they don't put a dent in your wallet. Why pay more for a product that isn't any better?
The beans are just what I'm looking for to make chili. I get the great value all the time because it is indeed a great value arrest a man named Charles Eldridge and a sting operation with beans the beans are just what I'm looking for to make chili. I get the great value all the time because it is indeed a great value. Having celiac I have to be careful about every ingredient that comes in my house. Many of the chili beans that are already seasoned are not gluten-free and therefore will make me very ill so I stick with what is good and it happens to be inexpensive too.
I use these red beans as addition for protein in salads. They have a great texture and taste. Also, i like these as stand alone protein for meal side. I add powdered garlic and onion and cook in the microwave in covered glass dish. They are delicious.
As someone who grew up eating beans directly from my father's farm, I am very picky. Most beans in the store turn too dark or don't taste right, but these are perfect. They keep their color and taste exactly like home. Here is the traditional recipe so you can taste them the real way: Step 1: Sauté chopped onion until it is golden brown. Step 2: Add minced garlic and a little tomato paste. Step 3: Add the beans and mix well. Step 4: Simmer on low heat until it starts to boil. (Add a little water if you want more sauce). Step 5: The traditional finish—add cumin. You can also add hot sauce or chopped green pepper if you like it spicy. If you want the real deal, this is it!
First you have to love kidney beans to eat or enjoy them. Their taste is unusual and if dark red you chu and chu forever to swallow. Loaded with fiber. I choose the light red for flavor and texture in a cold kidney bean salad as a side dish in the summer
I picked up this can of Great Value Light Red Kidney Beans for a quick meal, and they're solid—good texture, good flavor, and they don't come out looking like a bean swamp. They heat up fast and work great in tacos, burritos, rice bowls, chili, or whatever last-minute dinner you're throwing together. BUT… save yourself some money and buy the dry beans in a bag. It's way easier than you think—soak them overnight, simmer them in the morning, and boom: a whole pile of beans for way cheaper than cans. These are fine for convenience, but dry beans are where the real value is.
I ordered a pair of men's slippers size 10 and size 12 was delivered. Since I am handicapped it is very hard for me to get to the store to return. the tops of the paper bags were squashed like some one just grabbed them from the top. Poor quality customer service.
The ingredient list shown on the website doesn't match the ingredient list on the can. I needed canned red kidney beans without sugar and checked the ingredient label shown online to make sure that was what I was ordering. The cans I got were the same brand shown online—not a substitution—but the label on the cans shows that they do contain sugar.
Product is probably fine or not. Items should not even have been on the shelf or delivered for sure Big dent in a can. After this and other issues with Walmart delivery I'm done with Walmart delivery not to be trusted to pick quality items or even deliver all items I don't think they even look sometimes
