It's the best store bought “salsa”. It's more of a sauce cause it's not at all chunky. It is a little spicy. It's thick and lasts a long time in the fridge. Tasty!! I put it on every kind of Mexican food I can, even Taco Bell. The packet of green salsa they sell is a lot like this.
Eureka!! After trying so many tricks to keep my home made guacamole from browning, I had a hunch that this dip might be the answer and I was right! No need to add lime or lemon juice, green tomatillo sauce and spices to your fresh guac, instead you need only two ingredients - fresh diced avocados and this dip at a ratio of about 70 percent avocado and 30 percent Herdez guac salsa. IT DOES NOT GO BROWN!! Try it and you will thank me. On its own, there is not enough avocado in it and its a bit thin for dipping or spreading but the 5 star rating is for this as a second ingredient in simple fresh home made guacamole. It has the right amount of spices and salt in the jar.
This is one my favorite salsas (the other is the hot red HERDEZ) and I love all the HERDEZ products. This one has *some* heat, nothing crazy. For whatever the reason, the last one I ordered was shipped from Arizona, but I have no complaints, as it was packaged very well, to ensure there was no breakage with the glass jar. Really great products. I grew up in the Southwest and like a fiery kick to my food, great for Nachos or anything else you want to add some flavor and fire to. Love the texture: rich and creamy with just the right amount of heat.
Herdez Guacamole salsa is way different, better than their Avocado dip. The dip is slime like and weird. I love this salsa for ever! On my eggs every morning, Enjoy! PS. You have to try the new HERDEZ Pinapple Habenero BBQ sauce!!! Their new Pepper paste selection is amazing!!! TY Herdez
I tried this on a whim a few years ago. We were out of state and I happened to see it when we were getting groceries. It was so good! When we ran out once we were back home, I was glad to find out it was sold locally too! I usually add it to my tacos/taco salad. It adds an extra layer of flavor!
We always keep a couple of jars of Herdez Guacamole Salsa Medium in the refrigerator and pantry. This salsa is delicious. We top our tacos, burritos, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, and assorted other foods with this. It is one of our favorite sauces because it smells and tastes like fresh avocados. The medium is a little spicy, but it also comes in mild.
Sorry only don't recommend cause I thought it would be mild and it was a little too spicy for me. Also I couldn't get avacado taste from it was rather bland so will use either veggie tamales
Kind of thinner than you would think but absolutely worth buying. Flavor was amazing and great for a dip for small gatherings. Has a nice fire and kick to it. The ingredients used were very natural and had that homemade touch.
I like the flavor and the heat but after reading the label I won't buy it again. It has a lot of bad oils in it and I will try to make it myself in a clean way . Too bad companies haven't gotten the message that people are wise to the chemicals and bad oils that are being put in our food. I see this getting cleaned up or going out of business in the future.
Do not buy this. This does not taste anything like guacamole. To be honest it tastes like if someone was to eat a bunch of spicy nacho Doritos drink a Dr pepper and threw up. Im normally not one to leave a bad review but there's also never been something I tasted that made me throw up immediately after.
