Works awesome as a closed star tip! The name is technically incorrect, but that doesn't affect its ability to do what it needs to. I used it to make churros with my culinary school recipe and it worked great!

I love this frosting tip and find that it works very well creating a beautiful flower design for frosting cupcakes, brownies, cakes, etc. However, be careful to wash and dry thoroughly after each use and protect the shape of the tip. If one of the metal pieces gets bent or misshapen, it can completely ruin the look of the frosting and some frosting will no longer easily come out of the frosting bag.
