These are great balls with a water resistant cover at a great price. They hold their shape and keep up with the hard compression rating. Temperature seems to have little affect on playability, minimal at worst case. I have used these balls for a number of years, so I knew what to expect performance wise. 4 stars due to the mislead regarding "Official ASA". These balls carry no official association stamp and the only thing remotely resemblant of an ASA ball is the red stitching.
After learning about core and compression in softballs I decided to give it a try to this balls. After all they are the highest compression I have found out there even with a .47 core. As you may know high compression with a low size core means harder balls and that is something you can get with these balls (they sound even like golf balls when you hit them on hard surface). I play in a league where we use modified pitch (almost fast pitch) and I use Easton C-Flex bats and honestly my team really enjoy these balls and the HRs per game have increased significantly. My team is requesting to get more of these balls. About durability? We must use new balls for each game at least 2 but I have use the old ones in the games also when we need more balls and these are kept the hardness and shape very well after even 2 games. 4 stars?? To give 5 stars the product must over passed my expectations. I have some comments. 1st These are NOT ASA approved. There is not any logo on the balls that says that. 2nd Using these for practice??? I am not sure if the cover/skin will hold because it can get scrapped very easily. 3rd how it treats your bats? On this I am not sure but these balls are very hard and sometimes I question if the bats will not crack if you hit the ball with the thin area of the bat. After all I do not play with very slow pitches. So far nothing has occurred tinny bats but the feelings is there. In conclusion these balls are amazing for tournaments games when you do not have a ASA or NSA restrictions. You will increase your HRs numbers. But please be aware that if you are in 3B be careful if they are batting with these balls.
Thanks for allowing me to provide feedback on these Worth Super Blue Dot 12" softballs. I used them for a tournament that required use of wooden softballs bats. I was not happy the way they performed overall. Many (4-5) became oblong/out-of-round and another 5-6 experienced cuts or slices, especially near the seams. When was the manufacture date of these balls? My experience is that softballs more than a year or two old will NOT hold up to normal use. Especially the polyurethane core as it becomes friable and degrades. I don't plan to buy them again. Thanks again for allowing me to comment on these softballs.
