Sometimes the wife and I just like to make a little snack board while we're watching a movie this little summer sausage is great quality with some crackers and cheese. No I have not tried this yet but I saw a video where a guy put this in a food processor and used it in his chili and other people said it was really amazing and gave good flavor I'm going to try it at some point It's always fun to learn creative ideas with different foods.
Johnsonville cheddar jalapeño summer sausage is honestly one of those snacks that surprises you. My 9 year old is actually obsessed with it and keeps asking for it, which is kinda funny because it has a little kick to it. It's slightly spicy but not overwhelming, and I like it too so we end up sharing it. Easy snack to have around the house and it never lasts long once it's opened.
It was easy to slice and had a great texture and great taste. And you can see and taste the cheese chunks and they aren't overpowering. I love it on walmart's buttery roind crackets with a slice of olive on top or cream cheese on top. Great for every day use , and I always have several of these sitting around on the holidays
We purchase this for cheese %26 sausage trays for when we have gatherings but especially for our boating days. It's not dry like others we've tried. It's delicious and tasty! This is a staple for our boat outings!
no fatty junk in this, the knife stays clean, unlike the others, it is nothing like bologna, it's a dry blend, very easy to slice, and avperfect texture. not too much pepper, perfect in all ways
Taste better when I don't have to slice. Sometimes it's the smallest things. Seriously tho delicious and I should have bought two for the holiday. They went fast!
Hamburgers and hot dogs are for cookouts, ground sausage is for breakfast, and kielbasa is great for casseroles — but movie nights on the couch call for summer sausage, cheese slices, crackers, and mustard or your favorite sauce. Johnsonville's Beef Smoked Summer Sausage gets pretty close to what I want. I'm honestly tired of how so many summer sausages taste these days: greasy, oddly flavored, and not very beef‑like when you bite into them. This one is better — the flavor is good and much closer to what a beef summer sausage should taste like — but it's still a bit too greasy for my liking. And like everything else lately, the price has gotten outrageous. Still, for snacking or slicing up for a casual night in, it's one of the better options at Walmart.
This item was substituted for Liverwurst on my shopping list for pickup. I was not pleased. I requested a refund. I believe the shopper did not understand that Summer Sausage is NOT the same as LIVERWURST sausage by Hormel. I did not like the taste of the Summer Sausage. Too salty.
So this product, I guess it was old the coloring it when I cut into it it was gray. I didn't actually taste it because of the way it looked so the one good thing is Walmart immediately gave me a refund this look like no other summer sausage that I ever purchased and it's not just that the color was different. It's just it was gray so anyway I wouldn't recommend this and it just might've been that particular one, but I would
Outside of the salami was moldy. I wiped it off, but wasn't sure if I should eat it. I think this is just a fluke. All the other summer sausages I've bought have been just fine. I didn't pursue a refund, but I'm sure Wal-Mart would have taken care of it.
