13 HP DISPOSER GFC320N

Runs much quieter than the one it replaced and grinds very quickly. Instructions were complete and easy to understand making installation a breeze. I purchased a "cable clamp strain relief connector" since my old disposer didn't have one, otherwise all parts were included. This replaced a very old [16+ years] GE model that finally quit working. I'm confident this will last a long time too.

This disposal is replacing one that was bigger and borke down in about 5 years. I does a reaaly good job with little noise, and gets the job done. I am very happy so far with my purchase. I actually bought this product as a replacement of the same model I purchase 8 years ago. The disposal is a workhorse for me since it was the first disposal I ever had. I abused it by dumping huge amounts of everything down it and really putting it to the test. The sand and pebbles from washing homegrown vegetables took its toll on the poor thing and helped to wear it out. (It froze up a couple times with the pebbles so, i cleaned it out and kept grinding) in the end, it ran fantastic but just wasn't chewing things up that well, anymore. The new one is quieter and can't wait to put it to the test. See you in 8 years. This is the smallest unit and seemed to handle things fine so, i didn't feel a need to upgrade to the 1/2 hsp. This is a fine disposal, more than adequate SINCE NONE OF US SHOULD BE GRINDING UP LARGE QUANTITIES OF ANYTHING! To protect the environment, we should only grind up scraps that go down the drain; larger amounts should be composted or put in the trash. So this small unit should meet all your needs. It is inexpensive, works for years, and will take care of all that anyone should put down it. It is easy to install with one caution: its predecessor model plugged into a regular socket; this one has to be hardwired. Other than that, installation is easy.

I bought this to replace an old, non-working, too large for my needs unit. Since I compost I don't need anything too large. This fits the cabinet space nicely, is not too loud, and was easy to install after reading the directions, with only basic household tools since I was replacing and not having to start from scratch with the plumbing.

This garbage disposal is so much quieter than my old one. I have only had it two days but so far it works very well. The only bad thing is that the screws were missing and we had to use the screws from the old one - which thankfully fit!

I have lived in a home without a disposal, so having one in my new house was a must. Unfortunately, water often backs up in the sink while using the disposal. Having to reach to the other wall to to turn on the disposal while in the middle of doing dishes it isn't ideal. It's better than nothing and certainly works but I wish it were a little more robust.

My husband had to buy additional parts to install it, as well as, shave some pieces down for them to fit correctly.

The installation instructions were poorly written. The nut screwdriver required would not fit into the area to loosen the screw because there wasn't enough space to get the head of the driver into the space allotted. Thus, I had to use needle nose pliers to loosen the screw.
