Great but huge

nypigskin August 1, 2019

This spreader is well made and durable. It's made for commercial use or on large property. I just wish the #100 model or a scaled down version for residential use with a 15,000 square foot bag hopper was built with the same gear case and tires. I'm sick of buying Scotts garbage that cause fertilizer burn all over the yard. Please Agri-Fab build this same unit scaled down for residential consumers and you will sell hundred's of thousands of them.

Best push spreader

DJKo May 10, 2025

This is everything I wanted for a push spreader. It holds enough for me to do the entire yard in 1 fill. With the pneumatic tires, it is easy to push and maneuver when loaded. Easy clean up when you're done, just spray it out.

Highly Recommended

Accurate1 April 15, 2017

I bought this product because it appeared to be constructed better than the green ones that every one uses, and it was not as expensive as the commercial ones that I looked at. I used it for the first time to over seed my 3/4 acre lot and then I applied some starter fertilizer, and I would like to say I could not be happier. The Agri-Fab 130 is incredibly stable and the flow is accurate and smooth operating. I can say with a great deal of certainty, that I expect to get many years of service from this spreader.

Lawn maintenance is now a joy!

jk 77 July 10, 2020

Best spreader I have ever owned. This spreader beats the green one hands down. So easy to push around my property. Putting it together was not a problem either, just take your time and look at both sets of instructions. Figure a good hour to complete assembly. I did take the advice of another persons review and drilled a hole in the axle for the free wheel to be held on the axle with a cotter pin in addition to the hub cap.

nice unit

dadofmaraandalec April 29, 2018

Does a great job. Large capacity for my acre plus lawn. Replaced a smaller unit and saved me 1/2 the time. Large wheels and taller handle height make it easier to push. Well as easy as pushing 120lbs can be . Easier on my back since I can stand straighter with taller height of the unit. Easy to assemble...took 40 minutes or so and that includes redoing one step where I used the wrong spacer in the wrong place. Take some time to match up the parts to the printed key. Directions are excellent and easy to follow if you lay out the hardware using the numbered/lettered parts key. With reasonable care I don't see why this won't last a lifetime for a homeowner. Wash and put away to keep the rust at bay. Good value for money spent

So Far, Great!

Lonnie March 12, 2018

I have only used my new spreader for 2 days, and so far, it has done just fine! I have only 1 complaint: the agitator clip disappeared sometime during the first load! I also have one request: I use my spreader behind a large zero turn mower. It sure would be nice if you had a method to turn the spreader off and on while seated, and avoid the piles that form from the spreader sitting open while I get off the machine and come around it! Thanks for making it a quality machine!

Non operation wheel.

Craig Panning June 15, 2020

Given how heavy the spreader will be when full of fertilizer, I would suggest a more sturdy installation of the non operating wheel. I drilled a hole through the shaft and installed a nut and bolt to keep the wheel on the shaft rather than just the keeper that came with the spreader. Other then that, the spreader looks great.

130# Push Spreader

Mark W October 15, 2022

I have not used it enough to give it a true rating yet. Easily assembled. The quality of the materials is what you would expect for this type of equipment. I do like the large tires. It was a bit expensive for what you get. However, the price is in line with the market.

130# spreader review

Don from NW MO April 30, 2020

I have mixed reviews. The negatives are result probably of too high expectations on my part. I have about 3-4 acres of yard so this looked like an applicable tool. I was excited to have an agitator and the "suggested" load capacity. Pulling with an ATV I knew going in I'd have to rig up some kind of extension to operate the on/off arm. I used a "grabber" that worked surprisingly well. I liked the broadcast area of the spread as it was much better than the previous rack-connected ATV spreader I had before. Now the negatives - The capacity is good for only level and smooth ground. I found out on the second pass that any slope of ground would cause the material to shift/spill over the side when filled to capacity. On the third pass the slope evidently was too much and the top-heavy spreader fell sideways. I do not think the slope was that severe but the results was mostly likely by being top-heavy from being loaded to capacity? If nothing else the unit MUST have a lid to at least keep shifting materials and spilling out when loaded beyond 50%. Spilling/tipping was NOT of overspeed as I was diligent in not exceeding the suggested 5mph limit. I had the tire pressure to specifications but will significantly reduce next time to hopefully help reduce spillage as any bouncing caused materials to come over the top.

Disappointed but has potential

Spreader fixer May 22, 2026

Considering the price of the spreader, it should be built really well. However, after I assembled it, the plastic housing was rubbing on the gears. Had to remove the housing and custom grind both sides of the housing to prevent the gears from rubbing. The axle may be bent slightly as the gears don't fit as well as they should. After my custom tinkering, it seems to do its job well and I'm hoping it lasts 20+ years.
