This spreader is well made and durable. It's made for commercial use or on large property. I just wish the #100 model or a scaled down version for residential use with a 15,000 square foot bag hopper was built with the same gear case and tires. I'm sick of buying Scotts garbage that cause fertilizer burn all over the yard. Please Agri-Fab build this same unit scaled down for residential consumers and you will sell hundred's of thousands of them.
This is everything I wanted for a push spreader. It holds enough for me to do the entire yard in 1 fill. With the pneumatic tires, it is easy to push and maneuver when loaded. Easy clean up when you're done, just spray it out.
I bought this product because it appeared to be constructed better than the green ones that every one uses, and it was not as expensive as the commercial ones that I looked at. I used it for the first time to over seed my 3/4 acre lot and then I applied some starter fertilizer, and I would like to say I could not be happier. The Agri-Fab 130 is incredibly stable and the flow is accurate and smooth operating. I can say with a great deal of certainty, that I expect to get many years of service from this spreader.
The Agri-Fab 130 push spreader is well built and the performance is excellent. My lawn is about 2 acres; curvy, up and down and narrow passage ways. The spreader will spread the fertilizer from about 5' to 12' depending on the speed that you push it. It is quite easy to push and control the spreading area. I fill the spreader 1/3 full because the terrain in areas is very steep. Start to finish is about 2 hours. A pull behind lawn and garden tractor spreader will not work on my lawn because of all the tight areas. My last Agri-Fab spreader lasted 14 years. Last comment, easy to assemble
Spreader works great. Instructions were fairly clear with the exception of which way to put in the agitator clip. I had it backwards at first, but was an easy fix. Other than that, the directions for assembly were clear. Quality of unit was good. Used it last weekend and the grass is already turning green. I'd recommend this product.
Best spreader I have ever owned. This spreader beats the green one hands down. So easy to push around my property. Putting it together was not a problem either, just take your time and look at both sets of instructions. Figure a good hour to complete assembly. I did take the advice of another persons review and drilled a hole in the axle for the free wheel to be held on the axle with a cotter pin in addition to the hub cap.
Given how heavy the spreader will be when full of fertilizer, I would suggest a more sturdy installation of the non operating wheel. I drilled a hole through the shaft and installed a nut and bolt to keep the wheel on the shaft rather than just the keeper that came with the spreader. Other then that, the spreader looks great.
I bought this in November to do the sidewalks and parking areas of a Senior Apartment building. I love that it is heavy duty, easily holds 50# bag of ice melt and you can still push it. I am only 4'11" so this is a big deal! The only complaint I have is that I wish it had some kind of guard so you could adjust the degree of spread. It is great for wide areas like the parking lot, but when trying to do just the width of a sidewalk, it throws a lot into the grass on the sides. The dust from the ice melt, does build up on the axle and tires. We have to hose it off regularly to keep tires moving easily. Overall one of the better spreaders I have purchased in the last 12 years. I am waiting to see how it holds up because we do live in Northern Pennsylvania and we use it almost daily.
I have not used it enough to give it a true rating yet. Easily assembled. The quality of the materials is what you would expect for this type of equipment. I do like the large tires. It was a bit expensive for what you get. However, the price is in line with the market.
Considering the price of the spreader, it should be built really well. However, after I assembled it, the plastic housing was rubbing on the gears. Had to remove the housing and custom grind both sides of the housing to prevent the gears from rubbing. The axle may be bent slightly as the gears don't fit as well as they should. After my custom tinkering, it seems to do its job well and I'm hoping it lasts 20+ years.
