I was looking for a less expensive version of anchoring spikes to the Dimex brand (Made in USA) which are very stiff and can be driven into clay-type soils without bending. stakes. These spikes came up when I searched for Dimex 8" spikes.
There are many knockoffs available made of a softer plastic that bends too easily and are useless in harder soils; these are easily recognized because the spiral shape stops short of the "head" and there are 3 rings molded into the top end of the spike; the stronger spikes have the spiral all the way to the head.
I bought these because they came up when I searched for Dimex, they say they Made in the USA, and the picture of the item shows the spiral pattern going all the way to the head of the spike. I should have examined the specifications more closely.
What I received is a mixture of soft plastic spikes, most with the 3 rings near the head, and only a few with the full spiral pattern (which were also made of the soft plastic). These types of soft plastic spikes are readily available online for less than half the price when bought in quantity.
Since I need the stronger spikes I'm sending them back. I guess my bad for assuming they were comparable to actual D-brand spikes.
