They can be used multiple ways and provide a decent amount of light at night. I think the darker the area, the brighter they would be. I attached mine to a chain link fence with the really small clear zip ties. I put them through the screw holes and secured them to the top rail of the chain link fence. My poles have a flat surface on it, so when I put them on one of those I placed it like you would If you screwed them into wood, just using a zip tie. I did the perimeter of my property and everyone loves how it looks. Sometimes you have to think outside the box.

The first 16 lights look just beautiful..Easy to install..We installed them on our deck steps on one side..then we liked them so much that we bought another set. We recommend.

I ordered these to put up on the fence line for walking our dogs at night and they work really well. I'm going to order another set !

15 out of 16 of the lights work great. Disappointed that the one light did not work. Tried to see if they would send a replacement or a smaller package and was offered a partial refund ($5.60) which I accepted, but not exactly what I wanted since I wanted 16 lights, but do not really want to buy another set.
