Piano Potato 17”Dinosaur Dig/Assembly

Ranlo August 12, 2026

First off, do it outside using a flat cookie pan! It's easy to use but your young one might need assistance digging out the dinosaur figurine and then putting the skeleton together. It's very educational and instructions are included! Makes a great gift and guarantees hours of pleasure!

Super fun Saturday afternoon project

anonymous August 15, 2026

Received this at work and it was hard not to open it and play with it myself. But it is my nephew's Christmas present. It looks like it is going to be super fun. Can't wait! I'll have to come back and add pictures!!!

I'm very impressed.

I got this for a gift for one of grand kids. He's really into dinosaurs. He will have fun putting it together. It seems very well made and even cones with some wooden tools.

Fun for my kids

Kelsey August 8, 2026

I have a 4 year old and an 8 year old and this is perfect for them. I've gotten this twice already. Keeps them busy for a long time. Also comes with a poster and a paper mat so you don't make a mess.

These are so fun. 😊

Johny August 19, 2026

For fun activities, my littles and I like these little archaeological games. The ease of use of these are awesome, a little messy (that's part of the fun), and super fun to see the completed outcome. ❤️ As an associate, this is my honest review.

Dino

Janice August 25, 2026

My grandson's loved it easy to put together and sturdy. Instructions helped able to do on their own. Price is good for this item. Looking to get more items similar to this one. My oldest grandson loves dinosaurs.

My son really enjoyed it. Multiple levels of fun.

YeongMin August 22, 2026

This thing is awesome. My son really enjoyed it. Multiple levels of fun. The digging will get messy, just accept it and do it all on the supplied "mat". Easy clean up. I gave him a toothpick for the small holes and put them under water.

Fun science homeschooling activity

TheJessicaReviews August 13, 2026

The dinosaur set comes with a brick that contains the “fossils” (all plastic) plastic tools (plastic hammer with knife end, brush and a pick) and a plastic base. The brick comes with a very large paper to be able to do this activity indoors to not make a mess. There is also an informative dinosaur guide along with a plastic base. The dinosaur guide does have theories about how long the dinosaurs lived, such as 100 million years ago. I personally homeschool and don't adhere to that dinosaur theory so just a heads up for those who don't teach that to their children, it is indeed in this set. There is an entire front and back page, with just Chinese characters too. I was unable to read it as I don't know Chinese but it's odd to find that in the box. The fossils come in different sizes and pieces, some are larger such as the spine being in tact compared to other little “bones”. The brick took my son probably a good hour to completely break through. The tools are plastic and the brick is a bit firmer so a lot of pressure is needed to free the fossils from the brick. Once the fossils are out of the dirt brick, my husband cleaned the dirt off the crevices of the fossils. It took a while as the holes and cracks in the fossils had stuck dirt in them. The fossils were somewhat difficult to put together. My son needed my help to get them together as they needed more pressure than he was able to do in order to clasp the pieces together. They also come apart while trying to add pieces. It isn't as easy as I thought it'd be. The picture that shows the pieces are vague but with some help, children are able to put them together. Overall, the price is a good value as it takes a while to complete. It's also a fun activity for homeschooled children where they can learn science but also have fun. My son had a fun time putting it all together. He said it makes him an explorer and like Indiana Jones.

Dino!

Paul August 19, 2026

After recently going to a dinosaur museum, i was looking for a model I could put on my desk. I came across this and it immediately got my attention. Although designed for kids, my 99 yo mother and I quite enjoyed it. It took about an hour and a half start to finish. The only problem and the reason for only 4 stars was the lack of instructions on how to put it together. There is a diagram showing the individual parts (18) but no instructions. I finally figured out the pieces are cut a specific way so they only go together one way. Overall, it was a lot of fun. And now I have a dinosaur to put on my desk.

Great tool!

Katie August 7, 2026

Love love! The only downside is trying to get the chalky stuff out of the holes. That was difficult for my niece to do this part. All in all a great toy! It kept her busy for a while too so that's another win!
