18" Brushed Copper Weather Shield

This copper baffle is a very beautiful piece of work that glimmers and glows, depending on weather conditions...Right now, there is a frost on it, which gives a spectacular winter pattern on it. It is easy to install.....and I did follow one reviewer's suggestion that additional screws be put in the top to keep it from moving and rolling.....So there are 4 stainless steel screws that acomplish that. In addition, where the "plug" meets the top and goes through it, I also put caulking around the edges, to prevent any moisture from slipping through that area. This was purchased to keep the rain and snow off the swinging bird feeders I have and it is doing a good job of that. Just make sure the chains or hanging lines are short enough to bring it under the umbrella of the baffle, and yet long enough so birds can feel comfortable to land.

Most rain shields are boring plastic but this one is nicer than I expected. I've lacquered it so that it will last as long as possible. It's really gorgeous and will work well to shield the finch feeder I plan to hang under it.

Beautiful and functional product. Metal design will make it durable (weather and squirrel proof). Very easy to install

I have purchased three of these in total. They are especially great for hummingbird feeders and to protect open tray feeders. Also match my copper birdbath!

It is probably one of the most decorative rain shields for my bird feeders that I have found.

I noticed that other reviewers mentioned using this to keep seed dry and birds shielded. I bought it to replace my squirrel baffle that broke, and it has worked great for that purpose and has the added benefit of being very pretty. Not sure who commented on it not keeping out their squirrels, but I'd assume those are some very crafty squirrels or the setup isn't quite right. Do note that there is a screw in the top you should tighten down to keep the shield steady. I'd recommend it to others based on my usage.

They are very attractive, survived a strong storm yesterday and dontdont seem to have bothered the birds. seem to scare off the birds. My feeders are close enough to the fence that squirrels dont have to approach the feeders from above, so I cant comment on how well they might deter any other animals. My guess is that the sharp edges would kind of hurt plus I dont see how they could gain any traction on these baffles. I do think a large raccoon might be heavy enough to bend the soft tips and find a way to work around this baffle.

I've had this copper weather shield before and they are quite striking as well as very functional. Unfortunately there was some damage on some of the leaves during shipping. I was given a discount vs returning it and I felt that was fair; I really wanted to use it. There is no assembly; just hang it up and add a feeder.

Looks nice but very pliable. First squirrel bent an edge and removed it from its holder where it was hanging sideways.
