18" Pedestal Fan with Remote, 3-Mode,3-Speed 90° Oscillating, Adjustable Height,12H Timer, Floor Standing Fans for Bedroom, Living Room,Office

This fan surprised me! it's very powerful for a seemingly standard pedestal fan. The base of the game is no joke! it's a heavy base which is great, because it is powerful enough to blow itself over! I bought it for my bedroom, but it's perfect for pulling it onto the porch in the evening. It replaced my box fan, and will be buying again in the future.

This fan does the job of being a fan really well, it is VERY good at moving the air and cooling things down or leveling out the temperatures between areas by blowing into the hall or out of a room/blowing cooking odors out of the house etc. It has good wide oscillation that moves air well in all parts of a room whether in the direct blown on zone or not. The "modes" are continuous run, an intermittent run and another on/off interval run. The timer is easy to use and shuts it off at the selected interval pretty precisely. The remote is easily learned and it's clear what function is what at a glance but it only works at a very shallow angle to the front of the fan control panel unless the emitter on the remote is pointed VERY directly at the panel, in general controlling it by casually pointing the remote in the general direction of the fan is not happening. It is solidly constructed, much more robust than expected and BY FAR more rugged than my other pedestal fan has a good non tip base weight. The wire metal fan guard/grill is both strong and does not heavily interfere with air flow the way thick barred plastic fan shrouds do. It is easy to assemble and has a good assembly and operation manual. Cons: -My fan had a very severe oily/plasticky smell the first 10-16 hours or so, an odor like used axle bearing grease or old bike bottom bracket grease or freshly injection molded plastic that was nearly gone by the 48 hour mark. The smell is gone now on the 3rd. day, sticking my nose right into the fan it smells like any other appliance. -The finicky remote aiming. -The low speed setting is not very low and the fan is unexpectedly loud overall. TLDR: For me the minor cons are completely overshadowed by how well this fan does the job. Recommended from here at the approach of another Arizona desert summer.

This pedestal fan with remote is great. It cools my living room down. It is quiet, and it is not too big, so it doesn't take up so much space. I like the timer and speed function on the remote. Overall, it's a good fan.

Really pushes air at all speeds. Love the ‘breeze” modes and always have them blowing. Assembly not too bad and afterwards it is sturdy. Remote is a bonus.

Easy to put together. Like that it raises high enough to clear the bed frame. Provides background noise which is needed.

Got this fan as a replacement for the fan in my bedroom because it has a remote. Quiet, oscillating fan.

Easy to assemble! I love that it has great speed, easy adjustment of the poll, and is easy to tilt. Had some ISSUES with turning on the fan with the remote control, but was able to cover a large space to cool.

So let me start with the things I do like about this fan: It has a remote which is helpful. It is pretty strong (but not terribly strong) on top speed. It has a good white noise level which I appreciate. Things I don't love: it's incredibly junky and poor quality. The base is exceptionally heavy for some reason, metal type material? The bottom and top do NOT stay together no matter how tight you “tighten” the bolt, so anytime you pick it up to move it, you inevitably end up stumbling back with the top half only because it constantly comes apart. So find one location to leave it. The motor part is also held by a “bolt” you tighten. The motor aspect is also very heavy so no matter how tight you tighten the bolt; the fan itself sags down. It doesn't stay straight in the direction you place it. I'll use it until it dies, which will probably be pretty quick given the quality issues - but this was NOT worth the $80 (??) I spent on it. If they could lighten up the motor and base and fix the “bolt” that aren't bolts and don't tighten issue it might be a good fan.

The fan arrived quickly via FedEx in an undamaged box that appears to be retail packaging. Inside, the fan shroud (2 pieces), fan blades, fan motor/control unit and the nut to fix the shroud to the motor, fan pedestal adjustable post and pedestal stand, along with a small bag of screws to fix the center cap to the outer shroud, remote control, and the user manual. What was NOT included is the nut to hold the blades onto the motor. Without which, the fan is completely useless. I contacted support at Walmart and was informed that as a member of the review program I am not entitled to a return or exchange and I should either donate or dispose of the fan, but write my review honestly anyway. This is where we are now. I reached out to the manufacturer via the email address printed on the box, that information is NOT included in the manual, and began writing this review while waiting for them to return my email. I also sent a message to the vender via the Walmart website. In the mean time, I have powered the unit on, without the fan blades installed and find it well over the claimed 35db background noise level, and without actually doing any work. The entire unit vibrates and has a noticeable rattle to it. The so called night mode is an odd cycling on and off that produced a clunking sound every time it cycles from off to on as the motor spins back up to speed. This is on speed 1 in sleep or night mode. In normal mode, the start stop cycle doesn't occur but the sound level is just as high, it's louder than my refrigerator and it runs at around 50db on average. With the blade attached this will certainly increase the noise level, but again, I can't test that because it didn't come with the nut to hold the blades on. After waiting a full day for someone to get back to me and hearing nothing, I'm finishing this review now. The fan looks nice, the base is heavy and stable, made of some sort of pot metal with a thin plastic cover on top. The post attaches to the base with an L shaped bolt and washer so no tools are needed for most of the assembly. The fan motor and control section slips over the adjustable post and is secured with a thumb screw. The shroud is held on the motor with a plastic nut and two alignment pegs help center it. The outer shroud is held with clips and a tiny nut and bolt pair. The plastic blade is one piece and slips onto the motor shaft and a key pin aligns to the notch in the back of the blade' center. There is supposed to be a plastic closed dome nut to fasten the fan blade but it was not included with the fan which is the primary reason for the 1 star rating. The remainder is as I've already noted the vast difference between promised performance and actual performance. They claim the fan equally suited for small rooms and large spaces though honestly, I don't see how this could be used in an otherwise quiet environment. Nothing in the description holds true. Sadly, this item is destined for the nearest landfill.
