1883: A Yellowstone Origin Story (DVD)

DVDs worked great. Fantastic show. Can never go wrong with Sam Elliot but was pleasantly surprised by the performances given by the entire cast. 10/10 .

This story is beautifully told and the scenes capture the old west at the time period the film references. The dialogue and scenes contained hard language, killing, sexual situations but was not overdone. The character of Elsa was strong with perseverance needed for her journey. At the end of watching 1883, I actually thought that the person who wrote this should have written Yellowstone. I was absolutely shocked that the same writer who wrote the wonky, foul language spewing in mostly every scene, heinous killings, overdone, gratuitous sexual scenes, and dysfunctional family situations…I thought out loud,”What happened between 1883 and Yellowstone!?!?” These two shows could not be different from one another! 1883 was a wonder to watch as the story unfolded!!! Superb!!! It was everything that Yellowstone wasn't. I recommend 1883 wholeheartedly!!!

I thought I had a problem disc, so contacted seller, because wanted to exchange it, walmart only offered refund, they got back to me quickly, but I could not figure out where to go read what they said lol. But dvd player died next day, so bought a new one and it was fine. So no exchange needed. Love the show, gives you a ring side seat to what it was really like on the oregon trail, from Texas on.

This prequel to Yellowstone was great, Highly recommend this series.

1883 is my favorite of the Yellowstone series!! I love the cast too! I can't say enough good things about it. I got sick of all the ad interruptions on Paramount …so when Walmart had it on sale for $10… knew I couldn't pass it up! Great deal for an incredible story!!

Really well done mini series. Not realistic for the true moral standards of the time, but we'll acted and very entertaining. Worth the purchase.

This movie was so good. I like movies written about this era. I would've liked to live back in this time. The life was tough and hard in many ways. The ending was sad but happy! so glad that I bought it.

Since I did not open the DVD purchased It is difficult for me to give a good review. What I received was the movie of Yellowstone, not the Yellowstone series shown on TV and Narrated by Kevin Costner. I was really disappointed but I understand that particular series on Yellowstone is not available yet on DVD's . I returned the Yellowstone movie back to Walmart and received my money back.

The 1983 Yellowstone DVD advertising said the DVD was in English 'French. Walmart used misleading advertising to sell. I received the DVD it was only in English I am really disappointed with Walmart for making a false presentation to sell
