1966-1972 Ford Bronco; VSW 6 Bolt Genuine Leather Steering Wheel Black Kit

The VSW kit provided a nice quality billet mounting hub with universal bolt patterns for NARDI and MOMO patterns. The steering wheel has a NARDI bolt pattern. The steering wheel is decent quality brushed aluminum anodized black. The Leather-like finish is very very hard and the texture lacks grip. The wheel is contours with finger swells that provide grip bit the covering is so slick you hand just slips on the wheel. Perhaps this will soften up over time. It is definitely NOT Leather. The kit does NOT come with installation instructions and they provide you with an assortment of wires, bolts and collars you can use to piece together something. It took me awhile to figure out a solution to ground the aluminum wheel to close the circuit for the horn. A little bit of trial and error. This is what I did on my 1991 Ford Bronco. I used one of the two wire connector coming out of the hub and connected it to the positive side of the horn button. Then I bent the negative spade connector to make contact with the steering wheel column (where the steering bolts to the column). This provided a grounding point so when the horn button is pressed it makes contact with the ground and completes the circuit. Having some instructions would have been a time saver but it wasn't too bad. It is definitely not Plug and Play. Aesthetically it looks great but I wish it had a better feel and texture to the wheel. I will probably throw a leather wrap on it or a synthetic cover for better grip. Overall I am happy with the wheel. Overtime I will know if it holds up.
