Works well, is aesthetically pleasing and easy to use.
Great roaster at a great price. Love that this is digital and a long slot. The countdown timer is an underrated feature. You know when your toast will be done like a microwave!
The Salton Digital Long Slot Toaster is a great addition to any kitchen. Its long slot fits all kinds of bread, from thick artisanal slices to thinner pieces, toasting them evenly. The digital controls are super easy to use, and you can adjust the browning levels to get your toast just right. It also has handy defrost and reheat functions for frozen or previously toasted items. The sleek stainless steel design looks stylish, and the removable crumb tray makes it easy to clean up.
Bought the toaster yesterday (12/26/23); put it to use today. 2 Comments: * the lever can not be used to lift the toast to view the level of browning. * the browning level can not be set until the toasting has been started. * the browning level always starts at 3, not the level previously used
It's a good toaster, but I hate that it doesn't remember the browning setting. It always starts at 3 and if you want 1 or 2 you have to keep tapping through 4, 5, 6 until you get to the 1 or 2. The brown setting should be active even before you lower the toast with the lever, so that you can select which number before you start toasting and I'd prefer it start at 1 not 3, Or just replace that function with a dial which is much better. I found 3 to almost burns some breads. Also needs extra lift lever so that you don't burn your fingers trying to remove smaller toast after it's done.
Not a quality product. Hard to engage handle, icons wore off, after two weeks had to start flipping the toast and after two months stopped working altogether. Have had cheap toasters that lasted longer.
Very Disappointing! Right out of the box the toaster did not work properly. Toasted the first slices well and then we loaded the second batch and the lever would not stay down. Kept bouncing back up. Once it cooled enough it worked again (15 mins). The next day it would not even stay down on the first load. Can't return because London Drugs is 4 hours away from where we live. More landfill... ugh!
