Rather than glazed pottery that can have lead, stainless that is too light or have rubber bottoms that can be chewed and swallowed potentially causing an expensive blockage or plastic dishes that are hard to get clean and also be chewed and swallowed, I use these as pet dishes. They are safe for human food, easier to clean and sanitize, and are naturally heavy when filled with water and the shape makes it hard to turn over(it can still be shoved quite hard and splash contents sometimes). None of my pets have ever been interested in playing with the glass dishes but always supervise your pet until your fairly certain of their behavior.

These are a great size for leftovers or whatever food item needs a tight seal for refrigeration. They are perfect for microwaving, too. Be sure not to use the lid when microwaving. I never wash the lid in the dishwasher even though it might be okay on the top rack. I have several sizes of these glass bowls with lids and have been using them for years.

This is an excellent 4 cup glass storage bowl. The lid seal is outstanding, the price is right and, as my grandaughter would say, it's the bomb! I used Pyrex for decades and Anchor Hocking glass storage bowls are superior and the price is very affordable.

I have so many products from this company and will continue to buy them! They are an excellent value for the money. When I give them as gifts, the recipients are delighted. I love that my food is being stored in a healthy, convenient way, instead of steadily absorbing microplastics. Great company with excellent products; I'm always certain that whatever I buy will be of consistently high quality and will last for years!

Can you please stop using plastic bags and move to paper bags? Paper bags are considered eco-friendly because they are biodegradable, compostable, and recyclable, allowing them to be reused or broken down naturally, unlike plastic bags which persist for hundreds of years and create microplastics. While the manufacturing process for paper bags requires significant energy and resources and can produce pollution, using recycled paper and participating in recycling programs helps mitigate these impacts, making them a more sustainable choice over their plastic counterparts, especially when considering long-term waste accumulation and the shift to a circular economy.

Needed a glass, sealable, straight-sided bowl about this size. This size and shape met all of my criteria. Can also be used for soup, chili or just keeping leftovers fresh.

What I received is not what I ordered. The lid has a clamp locking system. Although it can be used for food storage and they say they can sub items. What I ordered would have fit into my yogurt making machine, this doesn't. It will be used for storage but that's not the original purpose I ordered the item. The smooth lid pictured on the site is what I wanted, hence only 3 stars.

Just bought this bowl yesterday. Placed the bowl in the microwave for two minutes to heat up some string beans. Lifted it out of the microwave only to come up with only half the bowl. Completely cracked horizontally! Wasted money and a can of string beans.

EXPLODED IN THE MICROWAVE I've been using this to take lunch to work, usually cold items that don't need to be reheated, and it's been working fine. i tried to reheat something today in the microwave and it exploded ~40 seconds in. absolutely shattered.

Purchased multiple items of Anchor Hocking glass storage today 7/11/2026. Got home, opened them, and started handwashing them. The very first bowl cracked the minute it hit the dishwater, with multiple cracks and shards that had to be fished out. There's no way these are oven safe microwave safe and dishwasher safe!
