This brand of tomatoes is EXCELLENT! Having been brought up in an Italian-American family I was spoiled with great tasting food, so I am picky. Since I have been using these tomatoes all my tomato sauces and gravies have been delicious, I also use it for my homemade pizza sauce. Never any hit-or-miss from batch to batch, always consistently good taste, texture, quality.
There is no better taste than these crushed tomato's. Everything from this brand is exceptional. I can eat them heated up alone or use them in my sauces, makes no difference always great flavor. vine ripened and processed right away is why. Organic in their packaging too, BPA free. Food that you and I can feel good about. Not overly acidic taste in my opinion with great tomato flavor.
Honestly, best canned tomatoes out there, don't bother with the whole canned tomatoes, these are it, I use them from Pizza sauce to chili, the taste never disappoints, the best part: No other ingredients other than tomatoes, and it shows, every other brand uses other added ingredients and they mess up the tomato taste, for less than $3 this is a no-brainer.
Cento products are ALWAYS top quality particularly their tomatoes and tube tomato paste. The crushed tomatoes are rich tasting and make a quick marinara sauce that's rich and silky and not watery like using other brands. Red Gold comes close but Cento is the clear winner. SO glad that WalMart is stocking this now as it saves me a 1 hour round trip drive to the Italian grocery (and the expense of a gelato and espresso because if I'm driving all that way I'm totally getting a gelato and cafe, LOL.)
I have started using this brand because it has less of the poisonous products we don't want in our food. It is excellent in making spaghetti and chili and soups.
Highly recommend since it is a product from Italy that has higher health standards. If you have onions, garlic and Italian seasoning, you can make your own sauce. Not only is it cheaper but cleaner than store bought sauces
Rated lower because of Walmart's Shoppers...yes, they do not know how to pick items. 2 out of 4 cans are dented! Why do your shoppers not know how to pick items and canned goods???? Other than that, the actual product is great and not loaded with uncalled for ingredients. Makes a good tomato soup!
I've used this sauce for years. I've noticed it's gotten so acidic. It's really unusable to me. For years I've used a can or two of this for chili or spaghetti. The last two batches, I realized it was the acidity. I changed brands.
It's okay but I like the diced that I ordered, but you Walmart keep altering most of my order to the one I requested to purchased there will be a time that I won't be your customer.
the cans were dented in half. unacceptable. they wouldn't have been able to sell them in the store so they ut them in my delivery. not happy. I will not rejoin membership.
