I love the frosting but HATE the shipping. I received the frosting busted and several other items badly dented. My items were shipped in a box too big with NO packaging material to keep them from being tossed all around the box. I buy a lot from Walmart.com but after this I may not.
I normally don't like store bought frosting (at least buttercream frosting). The Duncan Chocolate frosting I needed in a hurry and for a cooking lesson. Bought it for the price. It turned out to be a good purchase. Frosted well and tasted very good. Did not have the fake artificial taste you come to expect with store bought frosting. I will purchase again for myself.
When lacking time to fix my own icing, I always reach for a container of Duncan Hines. This icing is so much like homemade I frequently want to just eat it with my spoon. The whipped is so light and great tasting. And the chocolate is actually chocolate tasting, not artificial. I love this icing plus you can refrigerate what you do not need if you don't need the entire container.
I've created a monster My great-gran she loves to have chocolate frosting on graham crackers her mom doesn't like it but Granny can get away with it it's tasty so creamy price is on point Don't tell Mom
Duncan Hines whipped chocolate frosting tastes amazing. With a velvety texture and smooth consistency, it's easy to use. Great ingredients and easy to open packaging.
Ruined my cake! Its grainy, full of undissolved sugar. Not smooth at all.
the seals were open on both containers of frosting. frosting was thick, and chunky like burned chocolate and was super grainy looking, like the sugar wasnt fully combined.
I bought this yesterday and it was so gritty. You could actually see what I guess was the sugar granules in it. Fluffy it definitely was not ! So disappointed and frustrateded. The cake was suppose to be for a special occasion.
was not whipped; did not spread easily at all. tore the cake. i used minimal amount. soaked the serving bowl overnite. the next morning an oily looking film hung on the water reminding me of my fathers turpentine pail that he soaked paint brushes in. i also was not pleased that that residue was probably clinging to my arteries etc. totally nasty experience %26 product. should be a minus rating.
I've gotten this brand for years and never had issues, but this is the first time purchasing from Walmart. I opened the lid and removed the foil seal to find what looked like a soggy brownie texture instead of the smooth fluffy icing we know and love. I initially thought I just got an old can so I checked the expiration date, we're good on that so I taste a tiny bit before putting it all over a fresh cake for my husband's boss. IMMEDIATELY spit it back out. It tasted like melted tires on the Texas highway going 90 in a 30 with your ex wife on your tail. Absolutely NOTHING like I had ever had from DH (or really anywhere) before. I had to make a special trip to another store at 10:30 pm and tried it in the parking lot with an old chipotle fork just in case, and it was totally fine! Husband's job is safe! Something happened to the can I got from Walmart, and it wasn't DH's fault. Pay the extra $3 and get it down the road knowing you won't have a Paris Accord violation on your cake.
