Is it SOLID....is it ACTIVATED?
this carbon filter is advertised as SOLID carbon, but in the fine print they say it is made from Coconut shells. They should indicate if when finished being processed and compressed, is the charcoal ACTIVATED. It is the activation of charcoal that gives it the best filtering of organics and minerals. So that manufacturer should bite the bullet and say what is the real filtering capability of their filter. After I have used it for a year, I will saw it in half and examine how well it filters the hard water we have in this region of California

Fitting problem
The CB6 filter replacement has a 1/2 in fitting and the Rain Soft P-12 has a 3/4 in fitting. Replacement for the P-12 can be found at Fresh Water Systems.
