This is my favorite coffee. Gevalia used to offer light roast and dark roast. I would blend them with Yuban coffee in order to create my own flavor blend. Since they no longer offered light or dark roast, I tried the Traditional Roast and found that it was nearly as good as my own blend. I would say that the flavor notes are fruity and nutty.
I am sensitive to bitter flavors and tried different coffees for years to find the smoothest blend. I have settled on drinking this Gevalia brand. It smells wonderful and is always smooth. When we have company over for coffee, they always comment on how good it is. It costs a little more, but if you consider how little the difference is per cup, it's worth it.
This has been my main coffee brand for years. With rising prices, I switched to store brand last month. Wow, what a difference. Gevalia is worth the $2 extra, and in my opinion is superior to every other major brand (Starbucks, Peet's, etc.) I'll be sticking with it for another decade at least. I also use a French press, and Gevalia is one of the few brands that's ground fine enough for it.
I am by no means a coffee aficionado but there’s something different with this coffee. It seems smoother and has no bitterness that some other coffees have. It is now the one I use the most. If you like dark coffee this is not the one for you. But for me it is right in the middle where I like my coffee to be.
I've been drinking only Guatemalan coffee since I first tasted it in the early 80's. There have been times when it was very difficult to find. Though Gevalia Guatemalan is no longer carried by stores near me, I'm able to consistently find it here. It's actually a bit too light for my taste, but I mix it 1/2 %26 1/2 with another brand that's a bit too dark - one with many stores near me, but that doesn't have Guatemalan beans available year-round. But even when I've used only the Gevalia, it had a wonderful flavor. I grind it together with the beans of the other brand since this is a very coarse grind and it is absolutely perfect.
The BEST brand of coffee: GEVALIA! It’s very smooth and high quality. I grew up in Europe and am picky about coffee! My father had this Gevalia Coffee as his project when we lived in Sweden! Thank you dad for choosing the best quality coffee beans and great packaging that keeps it fresh.
This decaf tastes full-bodied, so you can use just a bit less of it, for brewing, than the bargain brands. The price is somewhat more than we usually spend on the same amount of Great Value coffee, so we only use it on the weekends, as a treat. It is worth the extra money, however.
Gevalia french roast espresso ground coffee is the best tasting coffee I have found. The smell is so comforting in the morning as it fills my kitchen. The taste is smooth and good alone or with cream, vanilla or other flavored syrups.it’s slightly more expensive than some other brands but it’s a great quality coffee that is really a treat to enjoy while I’m trying to get going early. To me, it’s better than the coffee house coffees and it certainly costs less per cup. Good stuff!
This is the only Gevalia brand I will buy now because it is the only one that is coarse ground. All the other ones are so finely crushed that they go right through the filter. And you can't find Gevalia sold in bean form... or at least I couldn't find any. Why is all coffee trying to emulate espresso? It's not necessary to over-grind coffee!
packaging was contaminated with larva, in the folds of the coffee bag . i reported it to Walmart. the coffee was not effected and is delicious but unfortunatly will not be ordering any more. must be in theshippi g or warehouse.
