Great Value Asparagus Spears have a really nice taste. Already cooked and ready to eat. It tastes just great with salmon, which is how I like to eat it. I like to eat this Great Value brand as it has the best price on the shelf in the store. It not only has great taste but has better value for your money. I also served it for holidays to guests and they seem to just loved the asparagus. , even though it is from a can.

GV Asparagus Cut Spears may be used in many recipes or as a side dish. They are a quick and easy dish to make and to keep on hand. Good shelf life and special surprise! I like to put it in a salmon loaf because they go so well together! I include the juice with lemon, and it is not just for holidays. The loaf freezes well with the asparagus in it. Great to have a prepared homemade meal to just take out of the freezer!

I purchased this brand because my usual brand has really gone up in price. The Great Value asparagus was priced at a much better price. After preparing them they had a good texture and taste. Will definitely purchase this brand the next time I buy asparagus.

for the price, yes, i'd suggest this as being worth a try. there are a lot of those awful, woody, inedible stem pieces mixed in, though. and unlike with the spears where you can sorta expect that the base might be that way but the rest will be tender and fine... with these cut pieces you never know when you'll get a bad mouthful.

The Walmart canned asparagus used to be the best you could get, then it was not available for a while in 2025 and now is back. It now is 95% skinny hard, un chewable pieces. There are a few pieces mixed in that are like the old version but most are less than half the width of a pencil and just not digestible at all. Perhaps the old supplier can be brought back.

Having seen many positive reviews for this item, I was surprised that the cans I received contained so many woody, fibrous pieces. Unfortunately, it sort of renders the entire can inedible since it's impossible to sort such tiny pieces out by hand. That said, the flavor and texture of the good pieces was fine. Hopefully it's fluke.

The asparagus was thin like straw, which at first I thought was maybe a good thing in that at least it would be tender. Oh my gosh, no. None of it, it chewed up like straw! And I bought 4 of these! I'm back to the twice as expensive brand. At least you can eat maybe half a can. I wouldn't buy it at all if it wasn't the husband's favorite vegetable. He may have to get over it and eat brussels sprouts more.

Basically a can full of the inedible hard pieces of asparagus mixed with VERY few edible pieces. I miss when canned asparagus used to be pretty good! Maybe the other cans I purchased are better but it was so bad that I'm not sure if I even want to try the other ones!

Most of the pieces were that hard stringy horrible asparagus. I threw my money away the other cans I bought I opened and threw away they were the same. I usually have no problem with Great Value products but I will never purchase these again. No I would not even put them in a stew or on a pizza. If that is how they all are you need to stop selling them.

Very skinny stalks of asparagus, but was like chewing on straw! VERY woody and had a distinct metallic taste to it. Have tried two different can bought months apart so it is a standard of the product, not just a bad batch. Would NOT recommend wasting your money on this product, either go without or splurge on a better brand. Personally I prefer the whole asparagus to the cut anyway, usually is a better quality.
