Well, they're instant potatoes, so they are what they are. They make a decent side dish; as good as anything you would get at KFC, Churches, etc. I use them in recipes, also. I'd say they are every bit as good as higher priced, name brand instant potatoes.
WoW it's bee a while since I used instant mashed potatoes!! No Matter what brand they were. well today I was in a pinch to get some fast home made food for some small family party. I didn't have time to go buy actual potatoes Idaho to be exact, so I added these GV instant mashed potatoes on my pickup list along with other necessities . Then I remembered I always used milk instead of water as the label states. Well I went right by the label and added just a touch of milk and some melted butter the final results was really hard to believe that such an affordable Instant mashed potatoes could turn out so darn good. So to keep this short I will use these more often and YES I do recommend this item.
Its add hot water, some margarine, dash some salt on, stir mixing all, tastes good. Easy fast food made. At todays prices, is low cost for part of a meal. Plan to experiment some time with cooking hot potato patties from it, with a sprinkle of shredded cheese on top. It is good for being instant mashed potatoes. Maybe sometime sprinkle on the potatoe patty, some hamburger bits then sprinkle over the shredded cheese. In today's times, its buy food at low possible price, then work your cooking magic with it. This has lots of potential to do things with. Is good instant potatoes.
Great in a bind when I'm budgeting and craving a Wendy's. Then I come back around on the head of lettuce for less and it balances the nutrition while I'm on those Animal Cracker remnants! Walmart finds some way to get my business simply by offering similar ingredients for less!
I'm genuinely impressed by how much these Great Value Instant Mashed Potatoes have simplified our weeknight dinners. They whip up so quickly and have a surprisingly light, fluffy texture that doesn't feel at all like the heavy or "fake" instant potatoes I remember from back in the day. The 26.7 oz box is a fantastic value for the price, especially since it stays fresh in the pantry for whenever I need a quick side dish without the hassle of peeling and boiling. They have a great, mild flavor that's perfect for adding your own touch of butter, garlic, or cheese, and they honestly taste close enough to the real thing that my family doesn't even know the difference!
These are a lifesaver after having dental surgeries! You can make them really quickly in the microwave with a little water and butter, salt and pepper. I've also added garlic powder. Or you can add shredded cheese. It's very good. You can make them very thick or thinner depending on how you like them. They are also very good as a side with a little gravy on top!
Great if you are in a hurry. We use them for side dishes and add them to various main dishes like cottage pie. You can mix them in a pot on the stove, but we often heat water in a kettle and add the water to the potato flakes. They are delicious, and for a bit of added flavor, just add cheese or butter. We have even made them into potato pancakes. Very versatile.
I keep this in my pantry for a quick %26 easy meal. I add frozen green peas, any type of meat (rotissre chìcken, bacon, smoked beef sausage or keilbasa, spam), cheese, and lots of butter. I also use spices %26 chicken boullion.
Excellent, surprisingly healthy component of a quick, consistently pleasant meal. The excellent preparation of the contents makes it a no-brainer for easy, rapid meal assembly.
Everything is fine I've used water, milk , heavy cream, chicken beef and veggie broth potato chip dip, cream cheese liquid from can gives and frozen veggies and regular sour cream and it works great with all of them I also made potato pancakes and potato bread I have also used it to thicken broth instead of flour in stew gravy and in cheese dips and mixed into ground beef and imitation ground burgers to keep them from being dry works very well dumplings and pasta and anything that you use regular potato recipes and my mother and I find it is quick in microwave at any time of day she likes veggies on the side I like making spinach dip with it and cheese and bacon bits on top
