My family has been a life long loyal Ragu brand pasta sauce buying family. imagine my surprise when i got Great value as a substitute in my order. so i tried it and what an amazing surprise. This product is delicious. very flavorful, rich, thick and more economical than more old brand. My family's new favorite. Thank you Great value for such a great tasting product and at a Great value.
it has such a nice flavor without being too acidic to people who have heartburn indigestion people who that are allergic to tomato seeds can actually eat this type of spaghetti sauce and it gives out such a wonderful aroma could use some more garlic oregano and basil but even then it would just be adding even more flavor
I'm a retired chef who used to have to make spaghetti sauce from scratch regularly. and this is my new go-to sauce for home. one day I bought eight different types of spaghetti sauce. and I tasted them straight out of the cans for jar. and this one by far was better than the expensive brands. it has a fresher taste. it's not acidic like most brands. and honestly it just has a wonderful flavor
I absolutely love this tomato sauce! It captures the freshness of the herbs while staying at a price point I can afford! I also love the fact that it comes in a glass jar that I can easily recycle or up cycle! It is definitely my go to for any kind of pasta sauce. The flavors are perfectly blended!
I think it's better than the other top priced sauces. Made lasagna and everyone complimented me on my sauce. Wanted to know how long it took to make. They couldn't believe it when I told them it was Great Value. Walmart should do a tasting event so people can over come their misconception of if it's cheaper it's not quality. Too many people are missing out on Walmart brand items because of it.
Amazing price. Sauce has a great flavor and is perfect for pizzas and add in to other sauces, it is a little thin and I do not use it on pasta/spaghetti on its own without adding in additional tomato paste and herbs, but outstanding product for the price.
I picked up the Great Value Tomato Basil Garlic Pasta Sauce on a whim because it was such a good price compared to the big name brands, and wow, I was blown away. The flavor is so fresh and vibrant – you can really taste the tomatoes, basil, and that perfect kick of garlic. The texture is nice and thick without being watery or overly chunky, which I find a lot of the premium jars can be. Honestly, it tastes better than the expensive stuff I used to buy. No weird aftertaste, just pure homemade vibes. If you want to take it to the next level, here's my go-to for the ultimate spaghetti sauce: Throw one 45oz jar in the crockpot along with a 32oz bag of Great Value Italian style meatballs. Add garlic powder and some extra Italian seasoning to taste, plus 2 chopped red bell peppers and 3/4 cup of water. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 – the longer the better, trust me. It fills the house with the most amazing aroma, and the meatballs turn out incredibly tender and flavorful. This beats any restaurant pasta sauce I've had! Seriously, give it a try – you won't be disappointed. Great Value nailed it with this one.
My days of making my own pasta sauce are over and this is not what I usually buy, but gave it a try. Added onion and garlic powder, and a little basil. Will buy again, like sauce in a jar, as you can just use part of it, and the rest goes into the fridge. Great with great value frozen ravioli. Look up how to cook that in the microwave, makes it super easy, no boiling.
Needs a lot of dictoring. I add olive oil, garlic, basil, cayenne when i can. Can even work with Mexican foods like huevos rancheros. I make my own pizzas, meatball or mozzarella sandwiches, etc. Freeze leftover in ice cube trays. Smear some on toast, top with cheese, thin sliced onion, olives, etc. Heat a minute. Dinner. Mix with lemon and horseradish for seafood cocktails. Big, fat jar for storing junk drawer stuff, plastic, doesn't break.
this is an okay product for the price. the reason for my overall rating only being 3 stars is because as per usual with products and Brandon products like this it was a little too sweet for my taste and also in my personal opinion the sauce consistency wasn't thick enough.. so I had to adjust the taste by adding a lot of Italian seasoning and also some garlic seasoning, for a taste and in regards to the thin consistency I used half of in envelope of McCormick thick and zesty spaghetti seasoning mix. but that was just to appease my own personal tastes. but like I said in the beginning of this is a decent product for a decent price. I just happen to be very particular and also cook a lot and have a background in culinary arts... hence my sometimes critical but always very detailed reviews. LOL. Thanks for reading yet another of my very long-winded reviews. ...This review was written by...HS
