for under a dollar a packet, this is value and convenience. similar to spam, this tastes very good. grill one side, flip, drop an egg on top, and 2 minutes later you have a tasty meal. great to keep in the pantry for quickness and when feeding just one.
taste and texture just like SPAM even though it says it is 100% beef made in South America. package contains a single solid patty of meat. if you like SPAM you'll like this, and visa versa... but what's the point, SPAM is less expensive and made in America.
I'm putting a "yes" on Recommended because this is a very effective and efficient source for the limited scope of nutritional content this product focuses on. Luncheon Loaf... I am not sure how to describe it. I like it enough? I'll eat it again. But it just wasn't enjoyable. Kinda just ... mushy mouthfeel. Like Spam but not exactly solid. Spam paste, except beef instead of pork. It does the job, though. From a utilitarian perspective, this 'luncheon loaf' is a winner. The sodium's a little on the high end, but lots of protein in proportion to very low carbs. Might be better if paired with other items, like, if garnished or accompanied with condiments. I think grilling it would help too, hypothetically. Maybe firm it up a little.
Hereford's Beef Loaf does not have much of a flavor. From first glance and whiff, I expected a SPAM (meat) experience. However; the beef loaf is not salty and it does not remind me of steak nor pork. I am not sure what parts of a cow were used to make my beef loaf. It seems okay for a M.R.E. burger substitute. Its texture is closer to beef than most other meats (pork, chicken, deer). The beef loaf does not absorb seasonings well when recooked. The Hereford Beef Loaf that I got was expired, it's expiration date lasted 12 years and my product should have been recalled. If obtained near its manufacture date, the beef loaf should be good for a long-lasting pantry food or emergency disaster food. I noticed no off-putting green color or foul smell. I liked it's low-fat content and when i opened Hereford's Beef Loaf pouch, it appeared that the fat that's in it chose to stick to the package rather than the burger, effectually giving the consumer more lean meat. Pictures that are attached show the cooked beef loaf in its original state and microwaved. Check the expiration date. Hereford's Beef Loaf is a good idea for a product without worrying if it will go bad (if bought early enough).
Bought this as a Beef option to Spam's pork. I wanted beef for a change. I didn't think it had much of a beef flavor. It was bland.
a big solid chunk of corned beef without the hask. filling in an emergency. maybe should have tried an egg with it
Disgusting Will never order again. I actually like spam but this is slimy, salty and feels in my mouth, like dead fish. Salty dead fish. Dead old fish. Don't bother. It's not Hereford. It's a long way from Texas. It's from some poor seaside village that saves their scraps and this is the result. YUCK!!
All 12 packages of items arrived with expiration dates 9-25. I have not been able to get a live person to help me at Walmart. THE AL tells me to eat it.
It was slimey and greasy. The taste was not to my liking. I would not recommend this product for any discerning buyer. It was opened, smelled, tdsted and thrown immediately away. I just have to say Yuck on this one.
was it spam or what ...I thought it was sliced beef I t was tasty but I don't know what it was
