(2 pack) Kidde AC Plug-In Carbon Monoxide Detector with Battery Backup, CO Alarm with LED Light Indicators

I wanted a plug in co2 detector for my office and also for traveling. I also needed one I could easily reach when it starts chirpy low battery. This fits all needs. It's easy peasy to open and just plug in since batteries came with it. I wanted one that used replaceable batteries as the sealed type with lithium batteries cannot be replaced and, in my opinion, fail before the 10-year life is up. I wish it was also a smoke detector but it's not.

I love that it plugs right into any wall outlet, but also has a battery backup so it still works during power outages (which happen a lot during storms where we live). The ease of use is amazing. Assembly takes less than 10 second. We put one in every room in the house even the hallway It was super easy to install—just plug it in and it's ready to go. The digital display is clear and easy to read, and it even shows real-time CO levels, which I really appreciate. The test/reset button is simple to use, and the alarm is loud enough to wake us up if there's ever a danger. Thankfully, we haven't had any issues, but it's comforting knowing this detector is quietly doing its job 24/7. Highly recommend for any home, especially with kids!

We needed to replace our two carbon monoxide detectors because they said to after 10 years. Well sure enough, 10 years and two weeks after purchase they needed to be replaced ( it will beep constantly when it's time ). We decided to stay with the same brand because it's been very reliable. We have one in the kitchen because we have a gas cooktop and we have one in the basement for the hot water heater.

Can't beat the ease of use because it is a plug in device. Tested alright. I expect it will live up to warranted life of 10 years. Peace of mind since previous unit reached end of life all of a sudden but Walmart delivered within 24 hours. Only negative is that these have become very pricey. Thank you, Walmart.

I had a faint chirpping in my house... You know that sound. The sound of something somewhere that chirps every 1 to 3 minutes. Driving me crazy!!! Thought I needed to locate smoke detector. Cleaned all of them dusted with canned air. Come to find out the carbon dioxide detector only lasts 10 years. Check your date on the back. These are easy to use. Comes with one battery. Plug in the wall and pull tab before.

Kidde is a most trusted brand. This just plugs into a wall socket. Easy peasy. A carbon monoxide detector is an absolute must for every household. Don't put off getting one. Carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless. You need a detector. Too many deaths that could have been avoided occur every year due to carbon monoxide. You could actually take this one with you if travelling since it just plugs in to any electrical socket.

I received two separate alarms, not a two pack. They were both in the same shipping envelope. The box one of them came in was heavily damaged and the alarm had obviously been removed, handled, and replaced in the plastic bag it came in. It was dirty and had a small plastic spur on the back broken off. The seller was trying to unload an alarm that had been returned damaged. At the least, this is very shoddy business practice. I expect better treatment.

first of all it was used which was supposed to be new! it doesn't work and it is taking a lifetime to return this!

Started melting in our camper. We smelled something hot and seen the unit was melting and tuning brown/black. Could've been dangerous if we were not paying attention

Unsafe unit. Possible fire hazard. This device failed within a couple of weeks. It was in my cabin, and started giving false alarms one morning. There were absolutely no symptoms in me or my dogs, so I got a backup detector of another brand that did not detect carbon monoxide. Then, by the end of that same day, it kept alarming over and over. I opened the battery compartment to remove the batteries to silence it, and there was a clear liquid all inside the battery compartment. I removed the batteries (two AA batteries, Kidde brand) and one of them was actually making popping noises. I examined the unit closely and saw that the plastic in the upper-right corner was brown, suggesting an internal burn. I cracked the unit open (since I was never going to try using it again), and in fact the circuit board was burned in the upper-right corner, right where the AC hot wire (the black wire) was soldered to it. My cabin's AC power source is a battery-powered inverter, which might not produce a clean sine wave. That can sometimes lead to excess heat in electrical devices, but if that's the cause of this failure it's still unacceptable. MANY people use AC inverters for power, especially people in cabins who depend on combustion heat. It is also possible that the battery which was making the popping noise and leaking was the cause (from some sort of internal short), however, this seems unlikely. I do not recommend purchasing this unit.
