Initially, when you look at this particular color way, the colors look really boring. But they worked up so beautifully into the most peaceful and soothing blanket that I think I’ve ever made. The quality of the yarn for the price is excellent. Yes, every cake had a couple of knots in it, but these are enormous cakes so that does not seem like a big deal at all. The yarn is soft and quite lovely. I’m trying to think of other things to make that will use this yarn because I really do enjoy working with it.

I love to crochet with Mandala yarn from Lion Brand. It’s %233 weight yarn which makes finished project light and airy. i also love to make thicker fabric for home decor items like pillows and make up bags by using 2.75 mm hook. It’s soft, washible and no worries on putting it into dryer. Love the color and value for the money. highly recommend!

I loved working with this yarn. The colors were so much fun and I ended up using both Mandala and Mandala Sparkle in my project. I crocheted a full size blanket for the new Mom and her baby and I enjoyed the whole thing.

I bought this yarn for a customer of mine, and I croched a shawl out of it. She not only loved it. But has ordered 2 more with the same yarn just different colors.

i did not dislike anything about this yarn. the colors are beautiful. The feel is not rough and it was easy to work with.

Soft, well dyed cake yarn. I separated the colors and used the more dominant color of each to make some shorts for the summer.

Nice yarn, great to use for tunisian crochet. When you can, it is a better value to buy a bonus bundle instead of two regular Mandala yarn cakes; 1,181 yards is a lot of yarn!

Yarn must be stored open in a warehouse, so it's dirty when you're working with it. Of course you're going to wash the finished project, but it makes the colors look dingy when you're working with it, and it may make your hands dirty. My main issue with the mandala cakes are the random color elements where the dye was added wrong. It's supposed to gradually introduce the new color with the old for a bit of a marled effect, but every mandala cake, bonus bundle or not, I have worked with has these color mistakes. So don't use it for projects that need to look clean. The only other option is to cut out the color mistakes but that defeats the purpose of using a self striping yarn. I'm disappointed with the Babar colors because I ended up with a cake with mostly the grays and the dark blue with only a tiny bit of the greens, which is the reason I got this. That's the problem with buying a mandala cake sight unseen, since each cake is striped differently. At the 9.97 price, it's ok, but I definitely wouldn't pay more than that.
