Ok, here is what I am going to use this for (never really see these), lemon/lime juice (for drinks), coffee (I love iced coffee, this prevents it from watering down). sofrito (which is like a salsa, and individual cubes can be added one at a time as needed). Sure, I can put it in the freezer and make ice, but I can do so many other things, and I love that it has a lid

I prefer covered ice cube trays as it really helps reduce the absorption of food smells in the ice. These make a larger ice cube than the others I had been using and slide out intact which is a big plus over my prior ones. I recommend these if you want to make your own ice cubes.

Easy to use.. I dont use the flip up middle tab, but.. I still like my large cubes and it doesnt water down the drink as fast as the small cubs from a auto ice maker does. The no spill lid really helps with putting it in the fridge after filling helps with stacking on top of each other. The price was great.

It's funny because this is one of those things I never would have thought to review, but it ended up making a bigger difference than expected. I've gone through plenty of basic ice trays over time and never really paid attention to them, but this one immediately stood out just from how much easier it makes the whole process. The removable lid is the biggest upgrade. No more spilling water while trying to carry it to the freezer, which used to happen almost every time. It also keeps the ice from picking up any freezer smells, which I didn't realize was happening before until it wasn't anymore. The tray itself feels sturdy and not flimsy like some of the cheaper ones. The cubes come out cleanly without having to twist or fight with it, which makes refilling quick instead of annoying. Even something as simple as stacking it neatly in the freezer is easier with the lid on. It's a small upgrade, but it removes a lot of the little frustrations that come with standard ice trays. Definitely one of those everyday items you don't think about until you get a better version and realize what you were dealing with before.

These ice cube trays are better than the name brand version that I have. These crack out easily without the ice breaking into small pieces, and they last longer in your glass that way. I used to buy ice by the 20 lb bag, but when the price on that went up too high, I started making my own. These ice cube trays are perfect for me and are much more affordable than $5 a bag for store bought ice!

My Mainstays ice tray with its 14 molds and cover is economical and easy to remove the cubes from their moldings. The trays freezes well and quickly, just in case you need more ice cubes formed in a hurry. It's sturdy and easy to store and clean. It is definitely a good value for the money that I spent!

Flimsy construction, twists when filled and overflows on the way to the freezer. The cover and its opening's purpose are unknown.;they make filling more difficult obscuring contents leading to overfilling. Attached it does not make handling a water-filled tray any easier because it doesn't prevent leakage . it would have been better if they took the plastic of the cover and added it to the tray making the tray directly stackable and more rigid.

Makes perfect cubes, Easy empty - just twist the tray and ice cubes tumble out. The removable lid is a great feature, but, the lids are thin... they could be a little thicker. The lids make it easy to refill and easy to stack them in the freezer.

I like that these nest/stack very nicely, so great for storage when not in use. The lid is nice for keeping in the freezer to keep odors out and prevent spills. I did not find it easy to fill through the hole in the lid, which I was hoping would be the case. Once frozen the lid isn't very easy to remove, and the trays don't release the ice easily. You have to REALLY twist them a lot to get the ice out, it usually takes several tries.

This is the most ridiculous ice tray I've ever seen! Cover is ridiculous and has a hole for filling tray but it's useless; had to use a bottle opener to get the cover off so I could fill it! Unfortunately, the tray is not pliable so it's virtually impossible to get the frozen ice out
