Ok, here is what I am going to use this for (never really see these), lemon/lime juice (for drinks), coffee (I love iced coffee, this prevents it from watering down). sofrito (which is like a salsa, and individual cubes can be added one at a time as needed). Sure, I can put it in the freezer and make ice, but I can do so many other things, and I love that it has a lid

It's funny because this is one of those things I never would have thought to review, but it ended up making a bigger difference than expected. I've gone through plenty of basic ice trays over time and never really paid attention to them, but this one immediately stood out just from how much easier it makes the whole process. The removable lid is the biggest upgrade. No more spilling water while trying to carry it to the freezer, which used to happen almost every time. It also keeps the ice from picking up any freezer smells, which I didn't realize was happening before until it wasn't anymore. The tray itself feels sturdy and not flimsy like some of the cheaper ones. The cubes come out cleanly without having to twist or fight with it, which makes refilling quick instead of annoying. Even something as simple as stacking it neatly in the freezer is easier with the lid on. It's a small upgrade, but it removes a lot of the little frustrations that come with standard ice trays. Definitely one of those everyday items you don't think about until you get a better version and realize what you were dealing with before.

I bought these ice cube trays with lids specificity to be able to freeze some homemade Healthy Anti-Inflammatory Shots that I can pop out in 1 solid ice cube to place in a gallon zipper freezer bag. I'm also going to be making Healing Shots to help during cold and flu season. I will be buying more of these.

Flimsy construction, twists when filled and overflows on the way to the freezer. The cover and its opening's purpose are unknown.;they make filling more difficult obscuring contents leading to overfilling. Attached it does not make handling a water-filled tray any easier because it doesn't prevent leakage . it would have been better if they took the plastic of the cover and added it to the tray making the tray directly stackable and more rigid.

Every time I empty the ice from these trays I feel like the plastic is going to break. Plastic is very very thin and just feels like it won't last long. It is pretty cool having a cover for stacking and not spilling the water as you carry it back to the freezer. When I need more I will buy a better quality Ice Cube tray. I bought this because it was the cheapest.

Makes perfect cubes, Easy empty - just twist the tray and ice cubes tumble out. The removable lid is a great feature, but, the lids are thin... they could be a little thicker. The lids make it easy to refill and easy to stack them in the freezer.

While these seem at first to be well made, there are issues. I find the lids to be impractical for stacking the trays because they are smooth and slippery. Without the lids, the trays can't be stacked in the freezer because they nest together perfectly-- forcing the water out of the bottom tray.

I bought these for 2 reasons. One was so my ice would be covered in the freezer and not take on any smells that might be in the freezer. Second was so I would've spill the watet when I filled them and put in the freezer. It has successfully done both of these needs BUT...the lid is absolutely horrible trying to get off to get the ice. ALSO breaking the ice out is HORRENDOUS!!! I will spend almost 5 minutes sometimes twisting and beating the bottom trying to get ice cubes. The design is severely flawed. I wish I would have purchased another kind 😞

Don't waste your money. The 1st one broke less than a week after I started using these. The 2nd just a few days later. They're cheap %26 flimsy, plus the lid is sharp and could cut your fingers if you're not careful trying to pry it off the tray. Tossed in the garbage because it wasn't worth the trouble to return them to the store. Get the Sterlite ice cube trays instead. I've got two sets that are over 5 years old and still working like brand new.

The lid doesn't stay well. Besides that, one of the trays is hard to get the ice out of. It stinks to the tray and has to bust out, leaving ice shards in the tray. It is an odd thing, but I've noticed it since day 1. After a few months, that tray broke.
