This is dehydrated/freeze dried ice cream. For what it is, it is great. It can break in the package because all freeze dried products are brittle, but that just makes for more finger snacks for you. In the past, these were sold as "astronaut ice cream" because they were given to Apollo astronauts (they rejected it though). These days, astronauts actually get the real stuff. Don't buy this expecting it'll taste like a normal ice cream bar.
My daughter wanted to try the treats astronauts eat in space. I'm unsure if that is the case, but she enjoyed sharing the ice cream bar as a unique treat with her friends. They enjoyed it straight from the packaging.
My daughters absolutely love these!!! According to them they taste just like an original ice cream sandwich!! I wish that there were more than 1 in the package.
I made this purchase out of curiosity and as a celebratory meal. My crew decided to go camping and hiking for a week. I served these as a final celebration of our time together. They undoubtedly taste just like ice cream sandwiches. Just be sure to have water to drink with because they are dry as to be expected.
It taste just like the ice cream minus it being cold . It was crunchy but really good . I love that the chocolate DIDNOT stick to the fingers like the cold ice cream but the quality of this was really good and my toddlers loved it as well . I bought them March 23,2023 and the expiration was January 2026 so for emergency food shelf life food I can say this is a yes for a snack !!!!
I've purchased several of these for my emergency stash. I have children and if ever we were to experience an emergency situation where running to Walmart isn't an option, it would be a nice treat to offer my little ones. When I buy these ice cream sandwiches I must hide them until I store them with my other emergency foods otherwise my kids will eat them up. They taste like an ice cream sandwich but crunchy!
It’s awesome to have for a desert during a survival situation or if ever in a disaster situation there great for kids to It taste just like an ice cream sandwich except for it’s freeze dried not frozen I really miss the Napoleon flavor that they used to have it really depends on some one’s taste buds and how much they will like it cause everyone is different when it come’s to taste of foods especially freeze dried foods because they might taste a little different than what you’re used to but to me it taste just like in frozen ice cream sandwich, except for not being frozen and being freeze dried instead
Well it tasted ok. It was like eating the middle of a malted milk ball is the only way I can describe it. It is very crisp so hopefully u have teeth or it will take u a while to eat. Its pricey but I just had to find out what it was like. No I won't be buying it again.
Another company gave me these as a free gift, but they were cut into one inch squares. These were whole, and because they are freeze dried they crumbled. They are definately not good for a regular treat. It's a one and one, and kind of expensive for just one.
If I hadn't had any thing sweet in many months this might be a treat. It did not taste anything like a real ice cream sandwich. It was super sweet and a little on the chalky side. It became a little creamy after it melted more in your mouth but never enough to convince you that it was anything close to ice cream. I didn't hate it. But I sure didn't love it. I could see kids liking it more than I did.
