Tasty high protein %26 fiber, plus roasted veggies

Nina April 10, 2026

Lentils are a great source of protein and fiber. Most lentil soups are a bit boring, but the roasted vegetables make this soup taste a lot better than other soups I've tried. Nonetheless, I still add a bit of cole slaw to give it additional flavor. The only negative aspect is the sodium content. I wish the company would make a no-sodium-added version of this soup, that way I could add Braggs amino acid, in lieu of salt.

Progresso soups healthier than most other brands

Gail December 1, 2025

Only when prices of Progresso soups are at my desired price, mostly on reduced prices, then I stock up on this brand of soups which I consider the best of all supermarket shelf brands. I use an entire can of soup per each meal which fills me satisfactorily and loaded with as much nutrition with minimum heating convenience than spending longer prep and cooking tiome to meet comfort and nutrition of certain Progresso soups not loaded with thickeners and insufficient veggies and/or legumes. I only buy soups full of nutrition, less redolent of salt, and minimum starch contents. If my prederred soups lack flavor, I can just add more herbs or other seasonings to enhance desired flavors. Some Progesso soups are great vessels to add leftovers. I never buy canned soups at original prices, but do buy multiple cans on reduced sale prices because, after all, no canned soup can taste as fresh as if home made. But Progresso is far superior to others within similar price points.

Asparagus

Anita December 6, 2025

I use the delivery service because I am disabled so what they brought me was a package of asparagus as seen above. The asparagus was well dated and had at least three more days until it was supposed to be used. The asparagus was slimy and not eatable. The Walmart near me is a bit too far to go to Return asparagus so I ended up having to pay for them and not be able to use them. I threw the bag away.

Was disappointed

Anders November 23, 2025

I like the basic lentil soup and lentils in general. This failed to deliver in terms of lentil taste or vegetable taste. Rather just get the plain lentil soup from this brand. Its great. I tried this as they were out of the other. I will not repeat. I didnt not like the lentil and vegetable combination.

4 packs - ain't really 4 packs

kevin August 18, 2020

I would think a "4 Pack" would be a pack, shrink wrapped or something - they are. I got a torn up box of loose soup cans - some dents - made me question WALMART'S shipping process

Awful, slimy, grey liquid

Anonymous September 17, 2025

(This soup deserves zero stars but you have to give it one in order to rate it. ) We shop as a family %26 Progresso soups are a staple in our home. They're normally a reliable warm %26 tasty comfort soup for all from the youngest to the oldest and a handy quick fix option especially during study sessions/exam week for my Elementary –College students. Progresso Lentil soup with roasted vegetables is a disgrace to the Progresso brand name. My daughter wrote this review immediately after tasting it; tbh after looking at it she didn't even want to try it. ~~ Her review: Nothing could have prepared me for the odious dreck in this can that Progresso thinks is edible. Over the years, I have eaten so much lentil soup that one might call me a connoisseur—but this…this is a despicable recreation of something sacred. No vegetable in this can deserved to die for a fate so horrid. All bland %26 all mushy, these remnants are forced to float in a thin pool of liquid grey matter that looks like sewer run-off poorly masquerading as broth. The state of the lentils themselves nearly sent me into relapse. For comparison I have placed a can of Progresso plain lentil soup beside my unfortunate bowl of desecrated “roasted vegetable soup.” Yes, they know how to make this soup properly, but instead chose to serve us all this atrocious oddity in a can. Your body deserves better. Don't let anyone serve you beans unworthy of your flatulence. *P.S Don't believe the lie of the picture on this can of soup. it looks nothing like what comes out of the can. Nothing about this soup is brown or red or delicious-looking. It's a in the stomach turning grey colour. Good luck if you try it. *Pictured on the counter: The open can on the left is Progresso original Lentil soup—nice looking %26 super tasty. The grey matter on the left in the purple bowl/cup is this product. Of course I put them side-by-side for comparison. I can't understand how they got this soup so wrong.

Are they kidding?

Tip May 14, 2026

This is literally broth with pretty much nothing else. Considering lentils are dirt cheap this soup could have had substance but instead they saved money by filling the can with broth.
