Well I did something I rarely do. I purchased these eye drops without researching then first. I had to look up on the internet how to even open the bottle. it's a snap after. I decided to write a review after I read some other peoples bad reviews. I too suffer from dry eye symptoms due to meds and an currently using Systane..but lately my eyes still feel irritated in places leading me to put more and more eye drops in with no relief. I started looking for something to possibly help, and chose Rohto. I only put in 1 drop in each eye. it instantly burned, but only for a few seconds ( less than 4) then the menthol cooling effect was so very nice. Rohto really helped my eyes feel better than they have in weeks. I realize I am probably going to have to start buying the expensive eye drops at my opthalmologists office if I continue down this path. I just wanted to share with people with dry irritated eyes, perhaps start with only 1 drop to test this product. 1 drop worked for me.
After trying almost every new eye drop that comes in the market, I always go back to these Rohto All-in-one drops for maximum relief. There is nothing else like the immediate cooling sensation this provides - instant relief from redness, itching, dryness, discomfort. I'm over 70 and these are still the best eye drops I've ever used. Buy once and you'll understand!
We love the Rohto eyedrops. They seem to work great, although at first, the eyes get an initial sting/burn . The biggest challenge is getting the tops to twist off… awkward until you get used to really pushing down hard and then twisting. This would be difficult for hands much older than mine (age 63)…
I purchased this product to an eye problem. Unfortunately, it was not appropriate for the condition I have. Which is bacterial conjunctivitis resistant to topical antibiotics. I was put on a strong dose of zythromicin. Lesson learned is this: If you have a serious eye infection, you could lose sight in that eye. Do not treat yourself. You need to see a Doctor of Optometry. The sooner the better. This is not an OTC situation.
I like the compact bottle it comes in that is easy to squeeze. That is the only good thing about this product. It is "cooling," but maybe a little too much so. It creates a strong sensation that lasts about 20-30 minutes, and makes my eyes water even more. Also can't be in the sunlight after taking these drops, it makes your eyes much more sensitive. These are unusable for me.
I was thinking i would like this since i like the max redness relief with the red cap. That one's great, right amount of eyeball mentholatum. This one however made my eyes so dry and red . This burns in a bad way too. Still kinda cracks me up this is made by The Mentholatum Company. It sure is yikes.
Being Elderly, with Arthritis in my hands, I could not "press-down and twist" at the same time to open the cap, needed help. AT the first drop in, my eye started burning, but after a few minutes, the burning faded and I could feel the cooling begin so I did put drops in the other eye, had the same reaction and THATS when I remembered I have INOCULER LENS, both eyes and that could be what caused the Sensitivity. My eyes felt FRESH after the burning...still can't get the cap off w/out help.
OUCH!!! Horrible little eye drops. Burn, burn, burn. Bottle is hard to open too. So I initially got a refund for this item, but tried them again since they're just sitting on my countertop (they didn't make me actually return them). Omg, this stuff hurts so bad. Of course my eyes watered, they nearly fell out my head - lol Good luck, you have been warned.
This Stuff is for those who are seriously into self abuse! I read the reviews and thought wow there's a lot of whiners out there. But I'll give them a try anyway. I should have listened to their words. If you enjoy putting liquid fire in your eyes this is for you. The first time I thought holy crap these things are pretty strong. So I waited till the next day and tried them again. Bad decision. Straight in the trash they went. Do not purchase. You Have Been Warned!!!
This product was recommended to me by my doctor to help soothe my eye in between doses of antibiotic eye drops (I accidentally scratched it). I've no idea what she was thinking. These drops burned so badly, it felt like I'd poured hot sauce or peppermint oil directly onto my eyeball!!! The skin around my eye was also already irritated so it burned h¢ll out of the entirety of my eye. While I was already down, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and try it on my other eye. You know, cuz I have nothing better to do with my eyes. It didn't hurt or burn as badly as the ‘injured' eye, but it didn't feel good at all. And there's nothing wrong with that eye. Or there wasn't, until I used these eye drops on it. Obviously I rinsed both thoroughly until the burning stopped. No permanent damage, but I won't be using again. Also, in case anyone has dexterity issues, this bottle is awkward to open.
