It makes ice, so it at least it's got that down pat. What separates this brand from el cheapo ice trays I have picked up in the past is that those tend to start to break apart and leak in a matter of weeks or months. I've yet to have any of these Rubbermaid trays do that, at all. So, when I accidently left my last set of these in my old refrigerator that got hauled out the other day, best be sure I got more of these, not those, to serve in the new fridge.
At first the cube slots look too small. But after I emptied the first tray of ice I discovered the cubes were medium to large size. Also it's an extra large tray so I get more ice cubes. I have other cube trays but they don't empty as simple as this tray. I definitely recommend it.
The only reason I bought this ice cube tray is because of the reviews. I've never liked plastic ones. I've been using silicone ones for the last 15 years. I had a love/hate relationship with them. They had lids and the size of the cubes fit perfectly in the mouth of my drink bottle. BUT the silicone bottoms would pop out after 2 years of use. They were pricier than the plastic ones too. I went ahead and tried these. The cubes are larger but fit into my bottle. I don't have to add new cubes as often now. And this tray holds more cubes since the trays are longer. I wish they had lids. I'm a shaky 70 year old. But for the price I won't complain. I'll buy extra paper towels to clean up what spills.
I have used several different brands over 70 years. This is the best Ice Cube Tray I have ever used. Easy release ice cubes over other brands is outstanding. They are more durable than other brands; other brands crack or split after a period of use.
Had an ice maker for the counter. Bought it years ago. It got to where it was only making tiny cubes that would melt in less than an hour. Went back to the ice trays that I grew up with. My ice, now, is still big the next morning!!!!! Wished I would have done this a long time ago!!!
I felt dumb paying to this much for a single ice cube tray. I love them. They're easy to use. most of the time, the ice falls our without twisting the tray. They make huge cubes, easy to level the water between all of the slots. I bought 2 more.
My icemaker stopped working. I chose not to have it repaired or replaced this close to Christmas. I bought just one ice tray but fully intend to purchase several more to save the replacement %26 labour cost. The ice drops out so easily from the tray, it's wonderful. My hands and fingers have weakened over the years.
I recommend this item and I actually bought two of them. I use a lot of ice. It is sturdy, easy to use/stack, doesn't crack, and fills easily. It is affordable and worth the money. Much better than cheaper ones that you can get at other lower quality stores. It does not crack or leak. I have experienced with cheaper products that sooner or later it cracks and I have to throw the product away. I have not had that issue with this product. If and when I need more...I will revisit this item to purchase more. Thank you Rubbermaid...another strong product to make things easier on the customer.
I bought this because I was tired of wrestling with my other ice cube trays. Why is this easier to remove ice from? I guess it is because the ice cube wells are more shallow than most trays have. Other than that they are just regular ice cube trays.
Excellent quality, flexible, no need to fear them cracking, and truly quick release as advertised. The way the wells are created allows water to flow into the next one while filling, just like my Rubbermaid trays of old did. So if you put too much water in at one point, you can tip the tray a little to spread it among the other wells. The rim is raised enough to hold a little extra, and the cubes will still come out easily. The only reason I dropped a star is the cubes it makes are kind of small. My ice maker quit and I don't have to the freezer space for six ice trays of small cubes when I need a lot of ice at one time.
