I don't know why but for years I just never thought about making fried chicken from home. I always figured if we wanted fried chicken we would need to go out to a fast food place or the grocery store prepared foods aisle. In comes Zatarain's, which I honestly used to associate only with rice. I'm thoroughly impressed with this mix and the ability to add your own extra seasonings if you want to make it a little spicy. I'm sure there is even more I could do with this. I'm excited to have it easily available at my grocery store. I also like the baked option for bone-in chicken.

I tried Zatarain's Southern Buttermilk Chicken Fry Mix and I was pleasantly surprised! I prepare a lot of chicken but I rarely do fried chicken at home. This mix was delicious. Tge chicken came out perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and golden in color. I did not need to add any additional seasonings and my family loved it. I will be buying this product again.

The chicken came out perfectly crispy on the outside while staying soft and juicy on the inside. The flavor was absolutely delicious with a really nice Cajun-style kick, but it wasn't overpowering or too spicy. It had just the right amount of seasoning to give it great flavor without being too much for the kids. Super easy to use and definitely something we'll be buying again!

I have been enjoying this chicken fry mix by Zararain's for as long as I can remember. It's a tradition for a reason. When something has been around this long, you know it works. I have switched recently to the baking directions of this mix for many reasons I prefer a baked taste and that's a little bit healthier in this stage of my life. I absolutely love a southern buttermilk chicken. If I could only have one meal for the rest of my life, this would be it I love chicken, especially with this mix. You have a beautiful meal and under 40 minutes everybody in my family is a happy camper.

Received as part of a product testing campaign and it was a hit in our house. The coating came out flavorful and easy to make. But the real win was that my daughter actually loved it — and she usually says chicken tastes "too chickeny." She loved how it was seasoned. Definitely something I'd buy again for an easy family dinner.

I used this seasoning on both chicken quarters and pork chops! Man, was it delicious on both. For the chicken I made it as per the directions on the box for baking. For the chops, I used mayo and diced garlic then baked. Both worked really well. The flavor is great. Savory with just the tiniest kick of heat. Thankfully it wasn't too spicy for my kiddos, but if you're sensitive to something with a kick, be aware. This chicken fry mix is also very easy to use, and one box will go a long way! Overall I highly recommend this mix. Easy to use, tasty and stretches for a couple meals.

This was so easy and had authentic Southern Fried chicken taste. I can pronounce all the real ingredients and my family loves it. I breaded it, par fried them baked the rest of the way. It had the perfect crunch. I breaded six pounds of chicken breast, par fried them then froze individually for later meals. They still stayed crispy! This is my new go to breading mix. Works great for pork chops too!

I received this batter for free in exchange for writing this review. It was very easy to use. My son has been spending more time in the kitchen and lately has been making homemade chicken tenders so he was excited when I got this. We thought it was easy to use, the instructions were clear, and it tasted really good. I usually make up my own fry batter/dry mix so I don't know how this might compare to other premade options but I would definitely buy it again and recommend it!

Thank you for sending me this product in exchange for my review! First off, the thing I loved most about it was how juicy the chicken came out. There was not one single piece that was dry. It was very easy to use and directions were easy to follow. I did like the texture of the batter, I think next time I would do a double dip for a crisper taste. One dip gives a light coating, while I do like it. I like a crispy chicken. I also think next time I will add seasoning to the flour. Overall, I would say it is good and has a lot of potential to be great. I will try again but make a few tweaks to it. Thank you again!

I was thinking we were gonna get fried chicken... I was pretty dissatisfied as I followed all the directions and the batter was very runny so it didn't really stick to the chicken and the little bit that did, stuck to the pan and came off so my meat was pretty plain when I pulled it out of the pan. Even though majority of the breading stayed behind in the pan, I still expected there to be some flavor, but it was very bland.
