For the money these boards are legit. Much better than the nerf bars I replaced but not nearly as nice as what came on my 2020 duramax. That being said, I'm super happy with these boards on my '02 2500 HD. It would be nice if they are made in the USA but that's hard to find. Still a pretty darn good product so far for the money, I'm very pleased.
6" running boards are just the right size for a full size ram 1500, they look similar to the stock running boards, but at a much better price. Install was quick and easy, had both sides done in 20 minutes. Packaging could be a little bit better (dented on one side due to shipping) but just placed the dented side on the inside. Overall very solid heavy duty running boards, would definitely recommend purchasing them.
I looked long and hard for the right step rails for my 2017 gmc 2500. These are the best for the price. Aluminum construction, rubber step area makes it easy to wash the truck. No rust like those other ones. Easy install makes it 5 stars Thanks again Real Truck. Best site for parts. Top notch customer service
REALLY like the 6" board. Foot is supported on the board. No worries about slipping off or catching part of the bar. The look is more streamlined than any board out there. Sharp. Install was easy on passenger side (two brackets). Drivers side was a bit more time consuming due to extra bracket. Driver side is reinforced with extra bracket (three brackets)and gives you piece of mind it will withstand the day to day use.
I was able to easily remove the bolts from the truck, to mount the brackets. I suggest a deeper socket set to loosen the sliding brackets on the actual step. if you loosen all 3, they slide really easily and you can line them up to complete the mount. The first one took about 40 min, the second took me 15min. I am getting used to them after getting in and out for 10 years without. The wife loves them because she can get in so much easier.
The running boards are very nice looking on the truck (F150 supercrew). I like the full length step area. They are not slippery. I like that the black step part (ABS or rubber) is completely contained. Had trouble with another running board step getting hot in the sun and melting, causing a mess in the truck and made boards look bad. Wish these were just a little lower, step is a little high for my shorter (5'3") wife. Had them on about 5 months so far and they are great.
First shipment was received quickly but was the wrong product. Even though vendor is very close we were required to return through FedEx. It was a pain & took too long. Once the right item was received it was easy to install, other than trying to sort out the nuts & bolts (short a few). Running boards look great & are very sturdy. Great price compared to others we looked at.
The boards look good and the quality seems good, but the installation instructions left something to be desired. They were exactly backwards, instructing me to mount the driver's-side front brackets on the passenger-side rear location. Once I realized that they weren't right and figured out what to do, it wasn't hard to finish installation.
We inquired about purchasing these and were told that they would hold up to 600 pounds. After installing them the running boards were sagging in the middle with just one person weighing approximately 200 pounds. We contacted the company and told them that the brackets were not sufficient and it took 3 weeks and multiple emails to get additional brackets.
Replaced old running boards with APS 6”. Very disappointed at how high they set from ground. I'm a 65 year old woman. They set approximately 4” below truck floor. The picture shown with product is deceiving. I should have read ALL reviews prior to purchase. Didn't have energy to hassle with taking them off and returning them.
