I've had his saw for over a year. It's a real workhorse. I use it for trimming the limbs on trees after cutting them down, it's a great one handed saw. Very good battery life on both 3 and 4 Amp batteries.
A great saw for quick cleanup around the yard. Much easier to use than the 20" gas saw - oil and go! Runs about 2 hours on a single charge, cutting hardwood and pulp stuff with ease. Bought 2 batteries in order to swap out and keep cutting.
Bought this to help with pruning on our 6 acres. Shortly after we had some bad storms and had a lot of tree damage. I worked with this saw for about 7 hours one day on the cleanup and believe it would have taken twice as long without it. After repeated use over that 7 -8 hours, the power meter on the battery still showed full. Smooth, cuts very well and oiler system works perfectly. Could not be more impressed.
I was using an electric pruner for years. I bought this saw a few months ago and wonder, why didn't I buy something like this before.
I just bought this chainsaw, it is the best. I bought couple with the other brand but Dewalt is the best chainsaw I ever have. It's long lasting battery, it's great, Thanks Dewalt!
If the saw sits on the shelf for a few months, the oil in bar oil groove dries up and the saw won't run. Take the chain and bar apart. Spray WD-40 in the grove and let it set for 15 to 30 minutes. Clean out the grove with a paper towel and your thumb nail. You also might need to clean the chain the same way. But a little bar oil on everything after the clean up. Hate the tip guard and no way to easily take it off.
Excellent farm saw! Trail and brush cleaning is a breeze! Battery lasts long enough for these projects
Received this as a Mother's Day gift after wanting it for a while. It worked great at first. Was able to help me cut down and prune a lot of our smaller trees and shrubs. However the product started leaking oil everywhere. The oil even ruined one of our batteries, which isn't a cheap thing to replace. After searching for solutions, I learned this is a common problem. Be ready to deal with this if you purchase.
I agree with others, this pruning saw is a good addition and quite helpful around the yard. I also agree with others, it leaks oil terribly bad; I have to store mine in a bucket with the battery detached due to the oil leakage, alternative is draining the bar oil after each use. The other issue I have, is the lack of a bumper spike or bumper bar, like you have on the Dewalt pole chainsaw, to prevent the hand chainsaw from being pulled into the branch being cut. Please add this feature soon, would be most helpful.
We received the box that had preciously been opened do to the amount of tape on it. There were holes in the box, from the inside out, which told us that it was not properly packaged, just rolled around in the box loosely. Didn't even open it up, assuming it probably didn't have all the parts. Returned promptly.
