Used it when I was working in a place with no insulation with a space heaters. Kept me from freezing on -15 degree days.
I bought my jacket a year ago and wear it daily for 5 months. It has held up well and you really do feel the warmth when needed.
Got this hoodie over the xmas holidays and have been wearing it daily since. As long as there's no crazy windchill, I haven't needed my Colombia winter jacket. Battery life is great with the 20v 2ah; get about 1.5 days; was getting 2 full days out of the 3ah but the battery was too bulky.
I bought this a while ago for the winter time and so far it has held up great. I wear it under my jacket and try my best not to get it dirty because it is not machine washable( my only reason why im not giving a 5 stars) I put a 1.5amp hour battery and it lasts around 4 hours on high which is enough because I have two and it charges faster than the jacket drains. Also the battey sometimes gets loose from the power source and you need to push it back into place which is not that much of a big deal.
I like the fact that the hoodie keeps my body warm but I am disappointed because there is no collar inside of the hood like shown in the picture. Also the hood is way too small. when I put the hood on the front top part of the hood stops half way from the top of my head to my forehead making if feel quite strange. The hood also wants to fall off because it is too short and I find myself constantly pulling it up because it keeps sliding back on my head. If I force the hood down over my forehead the whole hoodie lifts up off of my shoulders then gravity slowly pulls it back down lifting the hood up to the middle of the top of my head. The smallest battery I have is 2.0 AH but I find that this battery with the adapter (which comes included with the hoodie) is still quite bulky in the pocket. There are two battery pockets you can choose from. One is on the lower left side of your back and is zippered and accessed from the outside of the jacket. If you are standing up all the time it is better because it keeps the battery out of your way. However, if you sit down with it on it kind of digs into the side of your back unless you try to shift it over more to the side. It is hared to access without taking the hoodie off if you forget to plug in the battery before putting on the hoodie. The other battery pocket is on the lower left side in the front and is accessed on the inside and secured with Velcro. This pocket is made with light material that is too light weight and stretchy. I have had the battery fall out of this front pocket a couple of times from bending over because of the pocket being too stretchy and the Velcro not being secure enough. When the battery fell out it was left dangling on the end of the wire. A couple suggestions for DeWalt to improve: Make the hood a bit larger, make sure the photo matches the actual product design, make the inside front battery pocket out of a material that doesn't stretch as much and make the Velcro closure more secure, sell a special battery for the hoodie that allows you to plug directly into the battery without the adapter which would give us the option to skip the bulky adapter if we don't need to charge a phone or gadget.
I got Jacket as Christmas gift (from Daughter) so i could use at work as i am a framer and work outside in the cold. But i cant wear it at work because the battery adapter plus smallest battery i could get (2 amp) is to large and bulky for me to wear my tool apron. I would like to know if there is another option for me ?.
The back heated up too much during warm-up and it was uncomfortable to me. Plus the chest didn't heat up as much as I would have liked.
Coat no longer is available with a collar. ALSO, the battery adapter isn't correct either. It no longer has a charge indicator and only ONE USB port. Very disappointed!
The Coat i got worked great . And now after the year and 3 months the coat has been having problems at first it wouldn't stay on and now it stays on but it doesn't get worm anymore. And i know the warranty is expired.
Ive owned this jacket just over a year now. It worked well until now it does not stay turned on. Ive tried 6 different batteries and get the same results, itll be on for about 5 minutes then turns off. And of course it is now past the warranty.
