2.25 Peak HP Variable Speed Fixed Base Router

router is great I use it for a cnc machine this is the 2nd router that I have used on machine and it runs great.

I bought this router to replace a 30 year old Craftsman, and I am so glad I did. The kit comes with the router, plunge adapter, 1/4" & 1/2" collets, a bunch of edge guides and a really nice case. I installed it on my table and have been using it a ton, and I'm very happy with it. It's also not too loud in comparison to my old one and my battery powered one as well

This machine is just what I needed! As a seasoned amateur woodworker power tools are a must. I have 2 router attached to router tables each providing required work conditions. I selected this router for its performance and ease of handling when I do free-hand work. I can go from using the base with accompanying template guide to a plunge router in no time. It has a good grip and powerful motor. After reading the safety manual I put the router to the test and it performed splendidly. Another nice option is the sturdy case with standard accessories. Really like how quiet the motor runs and the soft start is grate. Changing bits and set up is a breeze.I hand problems using the dovetail guides they keep coming loose.The instructions book was not clear on how to use the router. Overall great product would buy another router from hitachi.

I've had many routers from different manufacturers but this is the first Hitachi product I've ever owned. This router is the most efficient, reliable and easy to setup and operate. I am completely sold on Hitachi. I will definitely check out other tools for my shop.

I have not had this product for too long and so cannot comment as to it's durability, but so far I am impressed. The power level is more than adequate, the noise level is surprisingly low compared to other routers I've owned, and the ease at which depth adjustments can be made is very good. The design with the base being fully removable is a great improvement over my previously owned tool. This makes cleaning very easy and small adjustments of a couple thousands are easily made. Haven't noticed any problems with the collet being difficult to release as commented by others. Since the collet is encapsulated by the nut it seems easy to actually pull the the collet out by backing the nut further out than just enough to loosen it.

Bought this router to be used on a router table and as a stand alone for wood projects. This is my second router purchase. My first router is a Ryobi, and it does adequate work, but needed a more powerful unit. I did a little research, and decided on the Hitachi. I'm not disappointed with the performance of this model. The only slight frustration is dealing with removing base to change bits.

I got this router as a gift over Christmas of 2017 and a little more than 4 months later the Armature is sending big sparks inside the housing. Once I found out how much my family spent on the router I was disappointed, and bought a new router instead. The takeaway, save your money and buy a different router instead

it works OK. Adjusting the depth is not simple or exact. If the is a fine adjustment option I have not been able to figure it out from the instruction manual. The metal insert in the base plate is a mystery to me and it makes inserting and tightening the guide for my dove tail joiner difficult. it works but the guide tends to vibrate loose because i can not tighten it enough because of the screw in the metal plate in the center of the base plate

When I first got it it worked great, now it about 90 days old and the speed control is going bad ,it changes the speed on it owned ,the guy who recommended it has the same problems ,it replaced the speed control (his is about 9 months old and paid for it himself )and now it works great again
