The bike box arrived looking pretty beat up as you can see from the photo. The pedals were in a box that got crushed and the tiny springs were loose. Thank goodness they didn't fall out of the gaping hole in the box. Unfortunately, the seat was completely broken and I called Schwinn for a replacement seat and they were completely willing, but didn't have that or any model that would fit my bike. Schwinn was completely apologetic and suggested I return it to Walmart. With the amount of work that was put into installing the bike that wasn't a logical solution for me. I was planning on buying another seat eventually, so I simply spent the extra money and bought a new more comfortable seat to accommodate my broken tailbone. The bike was fairly easy to install, but did take about 2 hours. On my first ride, I was gleaming ear to ear. No more hurting knees or rubber legs. Mind you this is not a lazy bike as I have heard others refer to e-bikes because pedal assist doesn't work unless you are peddling, so it just makes it easier. I live in the country and there are hills everywhere. This bike has brought me so much joy in knowing I can get up them without stressing my body. Its the perfect bike for me! 4 stars because Walmart needs to have more pride in the way they ship such an expensive product to its customers!
We bought a pair of these- one blue and one black. We're fairly happy with them. On maximum electric boost which will push you to about 19 MPH the derailer gears are not high enough. Even in 7th gear it's difficult to pedal fast enough to keep up with the electric motor. In other words the high gear needs to be higher. On the plus side the battery range is very good. We rode around in a large fairly hilly subdivision for well over an hour and still had 3 out of 5 lights on the battery. About 12 miles. It's nice to have fenders as most e-bikes do not have them. I'm satisfied.
Great packaging, high quality bike, poor shipping company (late and beat up). Seat QD bolt missing, assume from beat up box and a damage hand grip, called 1-800 help line and no questions asked, parts sent out. Mostly assembled. Also, manual says lifetime warranty. Was shocked at the power of the assist, verystong quality setup.
The front forks did not lineup Properly. By looking at the other reviews, yes, they were right. We called it in to tell them about this issue. They told us that there was no forks in stock to replace it.
This is the second time we ordered the same bike from Walmart. The first one was returned because the front fork was bent so the wheel would not fit. Now this bike the front fender rubs against the wheel and the kick stand was broken so it rubs on the back wheel.
frotn fork arrived bent, i could not install front wheel correctly. box looked perfectly fine. the paint did not show signs of it being bent or damaged during shipping. looks like it was manufactured that way and made it through "quality control." they seem like they could be good bikes. but there are plenty others out there around this price range that are wayyy better.
Got my bike. My husband was putting it together and saw that the front forks are crooked. I saw the same complaint in another review. Really disappointed that it happened to me!! I would think a company like Schwinn would have better quality control than this. Now I've got to deal with a return. Hopefully that will go ok. Look at the pictures, how can you get your front wheel to fit in that?!?
Have not received my purchase. It has been delayed. I placed a second order for another item and it was delivered on time, however, it was delivered to my neighbor's house instead of my house. Sure glad my neighbor is nice and told me it was delivered to them by mistake.
I was very disappointed when the bicycle arrived because it was for a birthday gift and the bicycle had a bent fork. This was not due to any damage from shipping but rather appears to be a quality control issue since from further investigation revealed this is not an isolated incident with bent forks on brand new bikes, specifically this model.
I purchased this bike for my wife's birthday, and she was so excited. I purchased it online in order to avoid having to go to the store. The bike arrived relatively quickly, which was nice, so it was here for her birthday. Lo and behold when I was halfway through assembling it, the steel fork (which holds the wheel) was completely bent. Which means it was manufactured improperly. After speaking to a very friendly customer service rep for the manufacturer, they informed me that the part that I required was not in stock, and a replacement would not be able to be sent to me, so I had to return it to Walmart in-person. This means I had to disassemble what I had just assembled, and re-package and re-box the bike and haul it to the store, which I was trying to avoid. While I was able to get my money back, my wife's birthday was unfortunately ruined, and it was a terrible experience.
