I have it for 3 years now (Unlock and Auto Lock 10 times per day) with NO ISSUES whatsoever. Installation was very easy. I replaced the batteries once
This lock is amazing, highly recommended! Reading the negative review from 'B' I can only suggest that he is either not a qualified installer or he represents another lock company. I say this BECAUSE the only way this lock will fail is IF THE DEADBLOT DOES NOT EASILY GLIDE INTO THE DEADBOLT RECEIVER. I know this from firsthand experience, as our new house's front door was sagging to the point that it caught the deadbolt striker plate at the bottom of it's opening. I'm a carpenter and a windows and door installer for over 15 years. The fix here was a quick inspection of the top hinge to see if the installer had used a sinker screw (a 2 1/2" #10 flat head screw) that secures the hinge not just to the door jamb, but is also long enough to go THROUGH the jamb and secure the hinge to the 2X6 or 2/4 door frame opening. Understand? It sounds like 'B' didn't take care of this very basic issue, I see it all the time. Just remember that the deadbolt itself must move freely through the striker plate as it locks the door. Trouble free here for 1 year, same batteries.
Im very happy as i dont need to shuffle to find keys while holding stuff.
Lock it was very nice. However, it came without a key. I'm going to return this one and re-order and hopefully the next one will be complete
Works fine, not great. Also frustrating that on the inside handle horizontal means open and vertical means closed. That is the opposite of 90%+ of locks and 100% of plumbing valves.
Bought it b/c it was a good price point, met our needs , matched our door handle which weve always bought kwickset, and this way if the internet was down while our house was under construction I didnt have to worry. Welllllll...I shouldve listened to our airbnb host who said buy a different brand... I run into our house for a quick second and the code I use since I was a kid & on this keypad reset the entire system. I didnt have time nor did I have the patients to set again. Lucky I had a spare key with me otherwise id have been in trouble. This is going back! If pressing the wrong button or in the wrong order resets its then I cant keep it and risk that my kid & his friends be locked out. of the house after school.
I bought this lock last week and after three days it stopped working. None of the solutions helped and it is still "frozen". I bought a new lock to replace the old kwikset smart lock that died after about 9 months. I think I am done with Kwikset for smart locks.
Absolutely horrible. I've had to factory reset this thing dozens of times. At this point it's no longer even responding to basic key presses. The instructions are extremely vague and don't match with what the lock actually does. It gives combinations of beeps and noises that aren't in the manual. Can't add user codes, and the cable that connects between the front and back is extremely sensitive and often slips making the front panel useless. This was a waste of money
This keypad was used, had been removed off someone's door, repackaged and sold to me. The kepad was dirty and the back rusted. It wasn't even the same layout as what I ordered. It was scratched and dirty. Absolutely disgusting.
Following the instructions, only one user code can be entered from the programming button.
