Install is pretty straightforward with a simple screwdriver as long as you don't need to drill the hole for a deadbolt. Make sure you have 4 AA batteries when you are installing as they are not included. Programming codes is pretty straightforward and you can program more codes than you'll every need including 1 time use codes. Battery life is pretty decent as well depending on usage. Overall a solid product if you don't need or want smartphone access.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This automatic keycode lock was easy to install on my front door. Took me about 30 minutes total. Programming your personal code was very easy. The matching door handle is sold separately. So please make sure you purchase that along with the locking mechanism. I also have this same lock at our secondary home and the batteries last usually about 18 months.

The direction's are so easy to read and understand anyone could install it! You can choose as many codes as you'd like. I always make sure to have a key located on me just in case something happens. This is perfect for my family. My kids are too young to carry a key so they each have their own code's to get into the house. My husband is always losing his wallet and keys so it's perfect for him to not have to have a key. I love that it doesn't put any finger prints on it once you touch it and it's so easy to clean. I highly recommend Kwikset smart code locks!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was time to replace the deadbolt on the front door and decided to go with keypad to make entry possible without a key. Other locks on my house are Kwickset so I could still use the key by rekeying this deadbolt using the Smart Key. Install is very easy for an existing door. Simply screw it on. It takes 4 AA batteries so hopefully those last a long time. Programming codes is very easy and it can store up to 50! It's not a smart device so won't work with wifi or other platforms but my needs didn't require it so not an issue. Over the years I've been very happy with Kwickset and this new deadbolt is following suit as well.

I love the ease of use and also knowing I won't get locked out. We have given the code to our some family to have in case we are gone. The lock looks nice as well!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After hearing so much about keyless entry options of this new high tech era and after hours of research on finding the best one that's right for us as a family, I decided to go with a brand that has been tried and true for many years, Kwikset. The new Kwikset Smartcode 270 Keyless Electronic Deadbolt was especially appealing to us in many ways, from the beautiful higher end style of the deadbolt, to the option to use a key or no key, to the auto locking feature just in case any one of us forgets to lock the door, and finally to the ability to add and memorize many user codes, which makes it easier for family members to remember. Installation was easier than I thought, especially for a first timer like myself and battery life is great and easy to replace using AA batteries. The motorized deadbolt lock slides fast and quietly with the press of a button and operation is as smooth as can be. I appreciate the backlight when pressing in the passcode at night as it makes getting in the door even easier for everyone. Even more appreciated, is the SmartKey feature in which we can easily use our current compatible key to rekey the lock ourselves without having to take it to a locksmith. There is absolutely nothing to dislike about the Kwikset Smartcode 270! Will be getting another for the backdoor to match!

I really like being able to unlock the door without a key. This also makes it easy for my kids to come in when I'm not home and they forget their keys. I'm very happy with this lock.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is not my first Kwikset smart lock. Kwikset really builds the best smart lock and for not an exorbitant amount. I like that the dead bolt is tapered so that when it locks it sucks the door tighter to the weather stripping. Programming and setup is very simple and the touchpad seems responsive. Rekeying is also super easy, but keep in mind that it will not work with all other lock cylinder types (so just do Kwikset all everywhere for easiest rekeying)

I bought this in July of 2023. I just stopped working. Called support and they tried a remedy to fix and nothing happened. Sais there was only a year warranty. Worked great until it didn't. If it's supposed to last longer than 3 years I can't give a good review. If it's supposed to last less than 3 years, it did its job

I have had this product for only two weeks and it has stopped working. The lock only let me program one code. This morning the lock would not open, I would enter the code and the lock would flash red. I am very disappointed with this product and would never recommend this product to anyone. I no longer trust this lock to keep my family safe
