After smoking a rack of St. Louis ribs and some Country Style ribs the flavor is as good as any of the pellets I've used and there was far less ash than with other brands of pellets I've tried in this price range. I am going to continue to use Bear Mountain pellets.
My experience is that I put these items in my cart to purchase, the was $297.00 the Pit Boss itself. I placed all items I wanted and the next day went in to pay for them and the price of the pit boss was now $397. I went on and purchased them at that price but I was not happy . It was a gift for my son's birthday . I moved money to my account the day I put the items in the cart. Next day price was up. No I am not happy about this purchase.
I've used these Bear mountain pellets 5 times since I purchased a bag from Wal-Mart. they do seem to be premium. l like the way they do not smoke up the place but put a good flavor on the meats. I've noticed about a 1 pound per hour usage @ 325° I will definitely buy them again.
I've used nearly 40 pounds of these pellets. They light quickly, burn consistent, produce great smoke, and the favor is great for all meats. I've run them with hamburgers, pork ribs, shrimp, pork shoulder, and NY strips. This is my go to, and for the price you can't beat these hardwood pellets.
I've been using bear mountain for a couple years. It never fails to deliver great taste and aroma to any food you use it with. I've used it to smoke meats and cold smoke cheese and everything turns out great. Doesn't jam up my smoker and doesn't produce a lot of ash.
I've heard I've heard nothing but good about this brand. I really wanted Applewood that Walmart did not have many varieties. So I took the chef‘s choice. It was so strong smelling it actually made me sick. I will try other Fridays down the road right now. It was just too much and very strong smelling
I ordered 3 orders of 3 bags, total of 9 bags. They showed up 1 or 2 bags at a time over a period of a week. Most of what showed up was late. No explanation of why they wouldn't all show up at the same time. These were 20 lb bags and the shipping companies showed the shipping as 60 lbs but that was not correct. I am too old to lift them and if they had shown up all at once I could have paid a neighbor boy to carry them downstairs to where they belonged but I couldn't have him come every day for a bag or 2 and they would get wet with rain if I left them to sit until all were delivered.
The bag was torn so badly that most of the product fell out of the bag. The ones that were still pellets came out of the bottom where the hole is. And the remaining portion that was in the bag was 75% sawdust. And then they told me that I had to bring it all the freaking way to Whitehall, an altogether different city. I don't freaking pay a membership fee to deliver their mistakes back to their store. This one is going on Google reviews and it's going to be submitted when I file a serious complaint against them. I am going to research who to submit my complaint to and I am going to make absolutely sure that I have every detail of how they've cheated me in the last two years. Walmart has cheated me and I am very emotional about it.
Bear Mountain Premium BBQ Wood Pellets These can not be used alone They do not want to light and once they do, they turn to ash. The pellets are very small. You MAY be able to put some on top of charcoal. Very disappointed and a waste of my money
I've been pellet grilling for 12 years and in my opinion these provide limited smoke flavor and it burns much quicker than the Expert Grill blend that is 1/3 the price
