I'm in the north east with a ton of snow and crazy wind this year. my old cottage style crank out windows are letting a draft in. i didn't want it to look bad with that thick opaque plastic or ruin my woodwork. i spent extra money on this kit and I'm grateful i did! i looks so clear! you can't tell i even have it on! i did a 10ft window alone with a step ladder and it's double alone just a lot harder. for my bigger picture window I enlisted my SO which made it take half the time than solo. i highly recommend!
I have use this for years. The plastic is tough enough, the application is very easy and the tape holds well. It seems to help me save a degree or two in a small colder bedroom and office room and lessen my heating bill a bit for a tiny investment in dollars and time.
Easy to install. I used 2 boxes to do 3 double windows w/o issues (same as 6 regular size windows). The tape works ok. The plastic is clear and barely noticeable, so we still have a great view/light out of the windows. I feel less air coming in and the plastic does not feel as cold as the glass felt. So far, the cats have not gone after (scratch/punch out) the plastic - fingers crossed. I hope the energy bill is lower in the future. I also hope removing the tape is not too much of a hassle when it is time to take these off (Goo Gone?)
Great deal for multiple window use. Nice quality, a little tricky to use or to get perfect until you get used to the product so make sure the first window you do is in a room you aren't in a lot or care about much haha but by the second window you do, it will be much easier. I also found the included tape to not be the best, however if you buy the tape separately for like 2 bucks from the same brand it works much better. Strange right? Haha. I also recommend NOT CLEANING the window frame prior to applying the tape like they tell you too or like for 3M products I got a much better stick when I did not clean the window frames first. I also recommend letting the tape sit for about 15-20mins prior to applying plastic. And as for the plastic make sure you do it in a specific order if you want a good clean application with no saggy spots. Start at the top then do the left side then apply the right side then the bottom. This allows you to pull the plastic tight on each side for a nice clean look. This product is much better than the KingFrost plastic which is trash in my opinion
Very easy for one person to install. i have never done this before. i followed instructions and completed install with no issues. Hoping this helps with keeping my home warm this winter.
I was tired of the Stinkbugs flying around my bedroom and put these on the windows and I haven't seen one flying around since, it's also helped my house cool down so much which is great!
This is really good. It's really easy to put on, the double sided tape is very strong and the plastic mostly stayed sealed on my wall/window even through strong winds. It's also very good at keeping the cold out. It was in the high 20s outside yesterday and my room felt like it was in the high 60s. All I can really complain about is how sometimes, the plastic can get so cold from the outside that it "radiates" off of the other side and makes your room a bit cold that way. You may have to double layer or buy a really thick plastic insulation if you're that strict on your room not getting colder. But yeah, it's very good for its price.
This was easy to use but I put the tape on with the backing still on it. That way you could press it down securely. The tape stuck on the plastic better than on the wall surface so when I tried to reposition it, it pulled away from the wall but stuck to the plastic. Otherwise it seemed to work well. The true test is to see if it keeps the cold out!
The tape doesn't like my textured walls too much but I put around the frame. The plastic isn't too thin. I wish these kits weren't so expensive! I used to do all 10 of my windows for $20, sad.
Nice thick plastic and good price but we could not get it to shrink at all (tried low heat, high heat, low speed, high speed, up close, further away) - that could be due to the fact we used it across a 10 ft span of window. Hopefully it still does the job!
