I've been happy with the Fog Kicker Blend. It has some nice fruit notes that come through without being overpowering, and the acidity is mild enough that it doesn't leave that bitter or sharp aftertaste some coffees do. Nothing about it feels extreme in any direction — it's just a solid, well-balanced cup that's easy to drink. If you tend to find light roast coffees too acidic but still want something with actual flavor to it, this one's worth trying.
I normally like a medium to medium-dark roast but I decided to try this light roast from FRC. I'm pleasantly surprised that it is slowly becoming one of my favorites. I find that a weaker ratio (1:20) really brings out the flavors and is just right for my first cup of the day.
I love this coffee! It's my go-to and tastes great in my espresso machine or as a drip coffee. I buy it in the 5 lb. bag so I don't have to think about going a day without coffee. :relaxed:️
My favorite coffee roaster stopped selling direct to consumers, so I'm in the market for another variety to keep on hand. Fog Kicker seems like it. Light, friendly, and broad-flavored, this is a blend I'd be pleased to wake up to any morning.
I have tried probably 5 of your roasts so far and this one didn't miss s beat. It also is has a fun name, and a great excuse if I haven't had a cup to get the fog out of my head.... . Sometimes it takes more than one cup :joy:
This is a pleasant medium body coffee blend. It has that traditional "diner coffee" flavor, nothing particularly interesting in it, but comforting nonetheless on a cold wet day. I'll definitely buy the Fog Kicker again. The value of the 5lb bags is incredible. I don't notice any kinds of degradation of flavor throughout storage. Enjoy
This is a smooth, balanced cup with not too much acidity and the right amount of morning kick (the cherry and caramel notes are an added bonus). The quality is phenomenal, too (per the usual for this company). Glad I took a chance on this one; this will become part of my regular rotation for sure!
This is the 3rd or 4th time I purchased Fog Kicker. Whether it's fresh out of the bag or has been sitting for several months it always tastes better than some of the others that may not get used right away. Thats in itself is amazing. Many of the Artisan blends are very, very good at FRC. Drago is one that I just purchased with the fog kicker. That too is an outstanding artisan blend. Not really good at picking out all the flavors that are said to be in each coffee bean. But I do know when certain ones stand out. I've had MANY of FRC's coffees and for sure I would recommend these artisans as well as some of the others. Both Fog Kicker and Drago have an aroma that makes even the strongest critic say something positive when I'm brewing a cup. Not saying any more on that. 😀FRC has something good going on with there Artisans. Give one or more a try on your next order. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I'm not gonna say I taste notes of apricot or raspberry jam or shoe polish or pork egg rolls or any of that nonsense. Most of the time I can hardly tell the difference between one kind of coffee or another. I suppose if I did a side by side taste test it would be different but that's too much coffee and its too good to waste. I buy a couple 5 lb bags every month or so and drink the coffee every day. Typically i just get whatever is cheapest or whatever has a decent discount and since yaall rotate the deals around ive been able to get a variety. (Thanks for that!) It's some of the best coffee I've ever had and the price is reasonable enough for the quality. I also think the stickers are cool although I don't get them much anymore.
I've been wanting to do a light roast in my espresso machine for some time and I'm so glad this was the 1st bag. Crisp fruity highlights with an lovely caramel Undertone. Delicious. And it packs a caffeine punch!
