Took a chance, glad I did…

Mimi November 27, 2025

I never had these beans before so I got adventurous and got a bag. OMGeee they are good. I love them in beans %26 rice. The color fades once they're cooked but the flavor is there. I soaked mine overnight because I was too lazy to whip out the pressure cooker. If you are trying to save some money and try different way to incorporate other forms of protein or fiber into your meals, give these a try. Toss them in soup, whatever they aren't lima bean yucky.

Cranberry / Borlotti beans, just like you remember

AP January 16, 2026

Cranberry / Borlotti beans. They taste great. Very smooth texture. Cook well in an Instant Pot without pre-soaking, as well as by conventional means. My grandfather used to grow these in his garden, but I hadn't seen any of these beans in ages. Highly recommend. I will buy more of these.

Tastes like pinto beans, but cooks faster

Rebeccah July 15, 2026

Walmart was out of my regular brand of pinto beans, so I tried the cranberry variety. It pretty much tastes like regular pinto beans. I eat a burrito every day for lunch and I really can't tell any difference. But I did notice that these cook much faster and seem to need less water than my regular pinto beans. For that reason alone, I plan to switch over to the cranberry beans permanently.

I love cranberry beans (most dried beans actually!), but the 1%23 bag is not available through my online cart. I'm so thankful that I found this package for shipment! I cook them %26 a piece of smoked seasoning meat, in a pressure cooker, on High, for 35 minutes (no soaking!) %26 they're perfect! They probably could cook a bit less, but because I lost my teeth in a fall, I have to have my food very soft! 35 minutes for unsoaked dried beans? That's not bad! ;-) I also use extra water so that I have plenty of "pot likker" to eat w/ cornbread! There are so many ways to season them, too! They are rather mild in taste, kinda like Pintos, %26 take on the flavor of what they're cooked w/. I usually fix them like I wrote above, Southern style, but they're good w/ Southwest seasoning, %26 would be good in chili or posole. I don't do much Global cooking, but I think they'd be great in a French Cassoulet, ot Italian Pasta Fagioli or other exotic recipes.

"Meaty" beans!

Char October 27, 2025

I love these beans, great texture and flavor, good price compared to elsewhere! Beans are full of fiber and nutrients and all the healthiest populations on the planet eat lots of them, as do I, and these are one of my favorites. I soak them overnight, then drain ,rinse, and dump them in the Instant pot with enough water to cover and cook for about 15-20 minutes. (Soaking beans shortens cooking time, makes them easier to digest by reducing gas-causing sugars like oligosaccharides, and can improve texture. It also removes "antinutrients" such as phytic acid, which can interfere with mineral absorption.) Myth... salting beans toughens them. Nope! It's acids, like tomatoes, citrus, or vinegar that will toughen them and increase cooking time. If you only change one dietary habit to improve your health, eat more beans and less animal products!

Love, Love, Love These Cranberry Beans....

SatelliteSue April 13, 2026

Love, love, love Cranberry beans !! First time I've bought them and they taste so good . They are soft after cooking and the bean "liquid" is thick and rich. These beans will become part of my menu. that's for sure. So glad Walmart carries them!

Plump, not mushy, and absorb flavors well

Jali February 9, 2026

I wasn't a huge fan of beans. I recently began adding them to my diet because they're so good for you. I never heard of cranberry beans. I googled them and read of their characteristics. These immediately became my favorite beans, next to kidney beans. They don't turn to mush unless you seriously overcook them. And their size plumps up nicely, while the thinner skins allow more flavors (spices, herbs etc) to be absorbed. I don't pre soak dry beans. It's nice to not have to plan hours ahead just to make some beans. If you don't like beans because of thick skins or a mushy texture, try these. These are great.

Great in chili.

hon October 29, 2025

I wash %26 pre soak beans. Easily prepared in slow cooker or pressure cooker until tender. This is my go to bean for copy cat Wendy's chili. I get to control sodium, fat %26 heat for healthier dish. I purchased on sale and grab an extra bag so I have a spare for next time. Yummm….

So good I crave them weekly!

KATHLEEN June 19, 2026

I like pinto, kidney, and cannellini beans. I am really fond of Anasazi beans, but when I found these cranberry beans, a whole new chapter began. These are now my go-to for most times as they are so good, soft and buttery textured. I even checked them out online and found that in comparison to the other beans listed (I couldn't find Anasazi), the cranberry beans are far healthier. They are much higher in many vitamins and minerals necessary for good health. So you can eat these with pride in your selection, since they are both good tasting and good for you!

The product is good but this is the 2nd time I have received damaged open packaging this month both times it was obvious that the worker knew it was damaged when put in the packaging! Almost feels like this was on purpose. My gallon cleaner came with what seemed like a tack hole and my Cranberry beans came sliced open by a blade they need to observe the ppl that pack these orders !
